I am contractual paralegal, and I myself, am very organized...but this law office...not so much. They went through staff changes and the filing 'system' is CRAZY. I have been put in charge of organizing the files of 2 major cases (on top of my other research/case assignments). We are talking about THOUSANDS of documents. Of course, an electronic filing system would be the most efficient, but I simply don't have the time to convert that many hard copy documents. Any tips? Thanks.

Teaching. Nursing. What else? Interesting - so far all relate to the social/interpersonal fields. Purpose of question - to see which fields women wish to work in. Is it discrimination that men are not in equal numbers in these occupations?

I am trying to figure out what classes I need to take for college to become a paralegal. A major they have in the course catalog is called legal administrative support associate of applied science. In the description it says "The program leading to an associate of applied science degree in Legal Administrative Support provides students with the technical skills and knowledge necessary for employment in a legal office as a legal administrative assistant or legal word processor." I have done research and saw that a legal assistant is the same as a paralegal. Now this might be a stupid question but I just want to be sure before I spend all this money and time into a degree that wont get me what I want. But my question is, is a legal administrative assistant the same as a legal assistant/paralegal? Thanks for all your help and answers :)

My daughter is 17 and is moving 6 hours away to go to college with her childhood friend who is 18. They grew up together, I trust them both. She's taking 21 units in the spring but has modeled her whole life so has decided she want's to keep modeling in order to make money part time versus getting a real job (which is almost impossible). The thing is is that she will be too far away for me to sign model release forms and other things and I trust her friend who is like my daughter (who so far has been the one to go with her to almost every show/fitting/shoot besides me since she's started and has a good head on her shoulders) so I would like to somehow give her the ability to sign for me. Is this possible through power of attorney? Just till she's 18 which is in less than 8 months. We don't want to go through the process of emancipation, it doesn't seem worth it or logical for this situation. Thanks for the help. Happy holidays!
