Model Scout Job Questions & Answers

I'm not big-headed or anything. I'm actually a pretty down to earth guy. I don't think I'm the best looking person in world, but I do think I'm up to the job of modelling. I'm 17 years old and regularly hang out in Central London with my mates. Where in London am I most likely to be spotted by a modelling scout and how can I improve my chances of being seen. It would be great to hear from somebody with experience, but all suggestions are welcome. Thankyou.

Im aware that model scouts who work on behalf of an agency , gat paid when the model takes on her first job. But how about independant scouts ? Is it when they get the model signed to the agency they found them ?

So, doing some research, I have read that any online Model Scouts that demand money upfront to scout you for top model agencies are scams. And that REAL model scouts don't demand pay until AFTER you get a modeling job...not before! Is this true? How would I find a scout that is truly legitimate, and supposedly only requires to be paid AFTER I get hired by a model agency?

It's not something I'm looking to make a career out of. I've been told a couple times I should model and I was approached by a model scout when I was 14(im now 21). It would be something different to do I currrently woek but would love to put myself out there for something else. Please let me know where I should begin, and I already know I should be getting paid not paying money to agencies.

I'm 5'10" and I'm about 140 pounds. If I could lose a little weight, could I be a model? I have light brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. Is this an appealing look for models? How can I lose some weight? And what's the best way to get "spotted" by a model scout?

I'm really interested in become an alternative model, I've been thinking about it for a while and just decided to go for it. Only problem is, I have no idea where to start. I've seen a few places suggesting Suicide Girls as a place to start, but I'm not up for posing totally nude.. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
