Im a recruitment enthusiast and look in to start a career in recruitment starting as a trainee recruitment consultant I only have sales experience by working as a customer service/ contact centre job. Customer would call to amend details and notify change of address, order back issues, were i take the opportunity to sell a product that is relevant for the customer. I received a voucher card for argor for over £100 for sales bonus but nothing on paper, sometimes they would call to place a complain (i have experience in managing complains over the phone) this job was temporary over the christmas period , job lasted 6 moths , I had excellent training and I learnt so much about customer service. the rest of my job history are jobs as trainee plumber, cooking in restaurants as Zizziz and Toro latino ,and Rio Bravo and also did carpet fitting. Any thoughts ? bryanfortnum@hotmail.com Kind Regards

Hello, next week I have an interview for a Trainee Recruitment Consultant position, I really want this job, not only is the pay good! But, I feel that I will be able to learn more and develop the administration and business skills I learnt at college. However, the gentleman said that as well as the interview, there is a psychometric test, what exactly is this test? And what questions do you think I will get asked? Any advice and help gratefully received! Thanks

I'm thinking about going into recruitment consultancy. There are plenty of trainee roles out there. I just want to know how they go about finding a new client. Do they randomly call organizations or what?

I've been unemployed since July this year and I've been constantly looking for work. I left college this year and unlike everyone else in my group I'm not going to University so obviously I've been trying to find work. Its a pain though as I live in a small sea-side town and its expensive to travel into the city (I've applied to city-jobs also) . I've done volunteering work already for a year (like to do more, but nothing is appealing to me at the moment.) so I do nothing each day. I feel quite down at the moment as I see most people I know either in work/college or Uni, even another person in the same situation as me is planning on going to University next September while I'm doing nothing. My mum keeps telling me that I can only look and there won't always be jobs available (especially as all the seasonal stuff has gone.) But its horrible feeling this way. I recently quit a work placement as I felt intimidated by the other workers as they kept asking me really inappropriate things and left me on my own for 5 hours.. Sorry for rambling but I have a bit on my mind at the moment - any advice? I need to find work.

I have an interview today for the post of Trainee Recruitment Consultant. This is possibly a great career opportunity for me, so I don't want to blow it. What I want to know is, what are the exact duties of a Recruitment Consultant? I mean, I have the gist of it, but there is always more to a job than meets the eye. Can someone give me a bit of detail about the role, skills needed, earning potential, etc?

I've got an interview on Tuesday for the position of Trainee Recruitment Consultant with Hays. I was curious to hear what people on here had to say about the company. Has anyone here worked for them before? What was it like? How hard is the job? How long are the hours? That sort of thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
