Is being an Auto Liability Claims Adjuster a good job?

I just graduated from college and I'm in the final interviewing phase for an Auto Liability Claims Adjuster position with a large insurance company, in a large market. I currently work in retail sales, so I have experience with customer service and dealing with difficult customers, but basically I am exploring my options at this point. I know the basics of the job requirements (deal with customers, close claims as quickly and as cheap as possible). Are there any current/former liability claims adjusters out there that could offer sound advice? Is this a good career move? What are the options for promotion? How long do people stay in claims? Do some move on into sales? Any advice would be much appreciated. Again, please only answer if you are/were a claims adjuster.
