I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Im a sophmore fine arts major and I'm very unhappy with that. I dont want to settle with a career in art education, or any teaching field for that matter. I went to career services and they said I should pursue majors in Communications (philosophy, political science), and Business (marketing, public relations.) Over the summer I work in a gift shop, and also I'm a guest services manager at a waterpark. I loooove running the gift shop, and as long as I'm working with customers I'm happy .(and not doing mindless work such as ticketing sales... I like answering questions and assisting emergencies/complaints) so I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for me. Whats the differnence between marketing & communications degrees? Should I major in marketing with a minor in philosphy, vice versa, or communications & marketing, or communications & philosphy. And what careers await me? lol I have no idea what Im working with here. Also, I have enough credits to declare a minor in fine arts.

Hi, I have 5 questions. Could you please answer them for me? The following is part of a job description of Risk Analyst of a retail bank’s risk department. (for Q1-3) [Risk analyst (RA) will be responsible for the development and execution of the risk strategies that will assist our key business partners achieve growth and profitability targets while maintaining the overall risk quality of our retail lending portfolios. Business partners include, Unsecured Lending, Indirect Lending, Real Estate Secured Lending and Small Business Banking.] Q1. I am pretty new to banking, and I do not understand its definition of “Business partners” . I thought what were described as Business partners in the above description should be “Business PRODUCTS/ DEPARTMENTS” instead? How a risk analyst could “partner” with “unsecured lending, indirect lending, real estate secured lending and small business banking” which I believed them to be PRODUCTS/ DEPARTMENTS? I thought business partners should be retail consumers (people), and/or institutional clients (other banks; like one should decide if Bank A should lend to Bank B?) Please correct me. Q2. In addition, I thought retail lending portfolios include “Unsecured Lending, Indirect Lending, Real Estate Secured Lending and Small Business Banking” instead of Business partners include them? But obviously, here says maintaining Retail Lending Portfolios is another responsibility in addition to assist our key Business Partners achieve growth and profitability targets. Q3. How RA could help key Business Partners achieve growth and profitability targets (sounds like sales to me) while I believed his/her job is to analyse if a bank is bearing too much loans? Another job description: [Support customer segmentation development that improves the underwriting process, enhance the portfolio’s risk-reward profile and are within the bank’s risk appetite] (for Q4) Q4. Does this mean RA should help assess the eligibility of a customer to receive their products? I found wiki definition on Underwriting is Underwriting refers to the process that a large financial service provider (bank, insurer, investment house) uses to assess the eligibility of a customer to receive their products (equity capital, insurance, mortgage, or credit). Q5. How to forecast loss rates, approval rates, response rates, utilization rates, and credit quality? Thank you very very very much in advance!!!

I've been working since I was 13yrs old. I worked 3 jobs in high school to support my family. I went to college for free but decided to drop out after my first year to pursue my 2nd dream-being salon owner/product line/etc. In 2004 I lost all three jobs, so I decided to go to school. Since then I've got my licenses to work in a salon. I am wanting to go back to school to take some classes for what I want to do. But I need a job first ($$$)...I've had the worst time with work! Employers that don't pay me, etc. Its 2007 and I'm 23 and still have no job (its been a year!) I've always been independent and its killing me! I've applied everywhere! That's all I do M-F. I sometimes get to speak with the hiring manager and I never say anything negative about past employers. I would love to get into a salon-but applied everywhere. I believe a school I transfered from is bad mouthing me. At this point I don't care where I work-I've applied at gas stations, fast food, part time, full time! HELP ME Pengy-thanks for you advice...as far as I dress usually black dress pants with a short sleeve white blouse, red kitten heels, minimal jelewry, natural makeup-hair usually up and curled. i used to public speaking so its nothing (i still get nervous, who doesn't) ppl usually comment on my country accent-i've never lived in the country and my parents don't have it i got it from my greatgrandparents-haha! i am partially deaf in both ears but read lips well.

I was offered a job at a cemetery for sales. I am a little nervous about taking the position and was hoping you may have some guidance for me. I have never sold anything. I have a decent job and make an hourly rate. I want to make more, I may get $1 or $2 more dollars an hour but I'm not counting on it. Even that $2 still wouldn't put me even close to what I would like to be making. My current Job was a blessing to me. If not for this Job I'd be making $12 an hour or less. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and got promoted. I'm scared if I leave this job to a commission only job and it doesn't work out I'm in trouble. I have a house and two kids and although my husbands works my income is needed. The sales manager tells me it is the easiet product he has ever sold and a lot of money can be made...IF you can sell. I don't know IF I can sell. I hope someone can give me an outside opinon Thanks for your
