Looking for info on real computer careers. Not the stay at home/work at home jobs that are usually scams but real jobs that you can go to colleage for and get a degree for that you will do most of your work online. Example would be those people who get paid to snoop around in chat rooms ect. Give me some job titles to look up involving these sorts of jobs please. or any other neat jobs i may be able to go to colleage for. thanks.

I have a job, but I want a better one. A job description reads: Job type: Full time ...ColdFusion Developer - CSS, HTML, JavaScript...Experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML Pluses include...ColdFusion Developer - CSS I have not only been doing this for 10 years now, but I am also certified in Javascript, CSS, and HTML 4. Yet the job wants strong Coldfusion. Coldfusion is just another server architecture right? With 7 years building server client apps in ASP I hoped they would be leanient on the Coldfusion but they are not. Why is Coldfusion still around? How can I best master it so these kinds of jobs do not remain elusive? Is it worth learning when it is going to be extinct? Why would a company insist on finding a 2-4 year Coldfusion developer?

I mean I know you write codes and stuff, but is that is? I want to be something about computing in the future, and considered proramming, but it looks just too boring. I dont know much about it though, so can anyone explain to me a few key points of it and if its enjoyable? And are there any other careers in computing or video game careers that do not involve programming?

I am a JAVA developer with 3 years of experience. Due to some reasons I had left my earlier job in 1.5 years. The work in the new office was good but all of a sudden i got transferred to another domain, a tool rather, cold fusion.Should i go in for a job change beacause I will be a fresher again and I will no longer be able to work in JAVA again. And cold fusion isnt used every where, it will limit my options of the next job. What should i do for my career growth? MBA is not a viable option for me. kinldy suggest

Hi everyone, I am going to be taking a certificate program in Web Design this fall. It will teach how to use HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver. Will these be enough to start a successful career in web design? Or should I have signed up for a program that teaches .php, cold fusion, MySQL etc.? Please note that I have already spent 4 years at university, and have graduated with an honours degree in Art History. I'm taking this program to give my career search some more focus. Thanks!

I'm 26 and i'm planning to move to canada to start a career in the video game industry. Video game is my passion. I play a lot and know a lot about games in general. Now I have a bachelor degree in administration, been working for five years in this field and i'm fed up, tired of it. So i want to change but my family thinks it's a really bad idea. I have 2 brothers living in canada and they told that i'll end up driving a taxi or selling at the grocery store because i'm already too old. I'll be 30 something after 4 years in computer science with a major in video game development. Is it really too old?? My brothers also said that most companies hire only younger people. Should i listen to them and get master degree in administration ( i don't really like the idea) or take the risk and follow my passion???
