I am a fresher (Engg graduate) and want to do an oracle certification program.I heard that it is very hard to get a fresher oracle dba job.Can u tell me any certification programs that involves less of coding.

What are the different steps to become a oracle dba,many institutes are providing training for it. But being a fresher its hard to work as a fresher,so whats the way to crack it. Should we start our career as oracle developer instead of DBA. @kenzo: You are right dear,so I think there should be a assistant DBA designation should be there,so that the junior people should learn from them.

Im setting up a fictitious Business name and I am going to be sending (say) web design jobs to this DBA from my job. I will be outsourcing those to other people that will do it cheaper so that I make a profit. I am setting up a consulting Business per say. Is this legal in California. Outsourcing jobs to myself from the company I work for.

I've always wanted to work as a DBA or a systems person. Being a mainframe IT (development) professional, I think it is logical I seek work there instead of in the PC world. Problem is, where do I start?

I will be starting classes this semester to get a vocational degree in computer programming. I was hoping to get a bachelors or associates, but the college does not offer the course with those degrees. Anyway, besides programming, what other jobs could I possibly get with this degree? It may be a dumb question, but I was hoping for some insight. I am taking this course mainly because I enjoy working with computers, and I'm hoping to turn it into a career.

Hello! I work at the moment as a DBA and I've received an offer from Microsoft as an Technical Support Engineer for SQL Server... It's not "help desk" or call centre, 'cause I would offer support for technical people but... I don't really know what this job is actually like... I wonder if it's more challenging than the DBA job...

I am from Electronics background and working as a trainer in a Pvt company but now I want to change my career to IT field. I am having some basic knowledge of SQL programming, that's why i decided to go for a Oracle DBA. Is knowledge of LINUX is must for a DBA?

1. Depending on the availabiliy of jobs in India and the initial salary 2. Future prospects 3. Expenses involved to get the certification Pls dont refer to a website ,I want your view. BTW,I am 32 yrs old with only a general B.Sc degree. ,working as a sales executive,but i want to change industry.And I am presently pursuing both MBA & MCA but confused as to which one to follow,since I have less time & more monetary constraints.Plz give me a well-advice.

I want to start applying for job from September 2011, once i get my graduation BE IT score card . Im planning to give the oracle certification IBM exam this weekend and part 2 next weekend. As I'm investing alot of my pocket money into these exams i wish to know whether i shall get a good job with good pay scale. And i have already given the internal exams which came while doing the course and have passed.

I am a contractor for and taking projects in the US Military base. Recently I have given my quote for a project and they Army has asked me to provide DBA insurance estimate and include it in my quote. As it is the first time I see such thing, does anybody knows how to prepare the DBA insurance estimate? Thanks.

I will have my AS in Computer Science and my OCP certification all within the next year, and I will have interned for a year also My question is what can I expect when I enter the "real world" fo to speak.
