I have graduated college, and do not have the grades to take me straight into medical school. My father suggested that I could try a first degree in something which may eventually lead to medicine. Currently I am working in a laboratory as a lab tech. So one idea of mine is to study lab technology. Any other ideas ? What I am looking for are professional science related degrees. Also try thinking of degrees which can land one a good job in science in the event that he does not have the funds to go on to become a medical doctor

BS has always been higher than those on other countries in europe. So if we're all changing to european standards (for engineering at least) won't that mean we'll have lower health and safety criteria?

First, let me say I am not taking anything said here by heart, I am just curious on which careers are good for a person like me. I am a 9th grade student (freshman in HS for those that don't know.) I am an average English and Social Studies/History student, but I am an excellent Math & Science student. I'm not trying to brag in any way, shape or form. For my future, I want a career in some field of Math or Science, or even a combination of the two. I'm somewhat interested in physics or astronomy for science. For math, any sort of field except business...I hate that stuff. (If this is needed, I am in advanced Geophysical Science and Advanced Algebra 1. I'm taking Adv. Geometry & Adv. Algebra 2 next year, along with either Biology or Honors Biology.) I'm also very handy with a computer, too. Sorry if this is too broad of a spectrum, but I just wanted to know what sort of jobs I could have when I am older. Any answers appreciated.
