Considering I score average on the ASVAB and I am colorblind ( red/green probably) what jobs would most likely come up? I know it's hard to tell because you have a lack of details but I'm looking for ball parking here. I was devastated when I lost all chances for the engineering positions I wanted. Thank you

I'm 24 years old with a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics. In my undergraduate curriculum, I had to take 14 hours of physics to complete my curriculum, so I took Physics I (classical mechanics), Physics II (electricity and magnetism), Modern Physics, and Computational Physics. I know a lot of programming languages, like C++, Java, Cobol, ADA, Fortran, Python, and Visual. I went to a friend's house the other day and we were bored as hell, so we watched Carl Sagan's cosmos. I've never seen it before in my life, and I fell in love. I want to go back to school and get a degree in astronomy or aerospace engineering, and do something in space. I could easily transition into it because of my already really strong background in mathematics and computing ability, with a little bit of physics knowledge. My background in astronomy however, is very weak. With the whole economic situation, the sequester, and the NASA defunding, are things looking grim for my newly found passion?

I am recently starting a job as a generator technician (I am currently one in the Army National Guard) and they ask that I supply my own tools... All we did in AIT is learn how to diagnose problems and where to look to solve them... I have bought some tools for this job just basic mechanic tool sets but they ALL have the same things in them just each one has something extra.. Is there anything else I really need specifically besides ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, multimeter, wirestripper, etc? Thank you.

I did a basic electronics technician job at my uncles electronics shop when I was young.. • Experienced in reading and interpreting mechanical, optical, and electrical specifications. • Adept at use of multi-meters, digital oscilloscopes, DVM and function generators • Tested analog and digital circuits and generated test reports in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Now I am just trying to include this information into my cover letter and it's not sounding right. I don't want this information to like jump out of the cover letter, but i want it to have an impact on the employer or the person reading the cover letter so he'll think , ok i think I will give him a call , hmm..this is what i have so far.. Working as an electronics technician has helped me acquire the basic knowledge required for every aspiring Electrical Engineering student . It got me familiarized with the different equipments even at such a young age which got me more interested in being an Electrical Engineer. I have used this curiosity and desire to learn and understand new electronic thesis and systems all through my career . What do you think ? I don't this it has an impact on the reader . How do I make it more interesting ?

I am currently thinking of becoming an audio visual systems design engineer. Does anyone know what you have to do to become one in Canada? Also, if you could direct me to various websites that give more information about the profession that would be great as well. Lastly, if my exact title of the job "audio visual systems design engineer" is incorrect. This is what I would like to do I would like to design, build, test and if i could also install audio visual equipment such as projectors, tvs, sound systems in short as much as i can involving theatre systems. I hope this makes it clear. Thank you for help. Is electronics engineering basically the same thing as electrical engineering? Can you do what I described with a degree in electrical engineering?

Hi everyone!!! my friend was been asked in an interview, "What is the lowest level of work can you handle?" Actually she is an Electrical Engineer (fresh graduate & no work experience at all) and in our country women as engineer are considered to be FUNNY... (very sorry to say this, men here are very narrow-minded). Can anyone please tell a real good answer to this question? An answer that can convince the interviewer. This question can also be put forward like this "How will you handle your work in the absence of your technician(or any other junior level worker)?" This is a really tricky question for an non-experienced lady in a close-minded environment, someone please help :( Thanks in ADVANCE!!!

I have recently been interested in joining the U.S. Navy. I've been researching several aspects but haven't been able to find the answer to one of my questions. They have all sorts of careers for people to choose from like chefs and oceanographers on board battleships. That saying, I haven't found a job description for the guy who fires missiles and shoots machine guns. Who does all of the combat work on board these ships? And what exactly do people in the Navy do besides sail throughout the ocean? I know they've helped a lot with the Japan tsunami, but what else do they do?

Mac users let me ask you this: I have 3 PCs 1 has lasted me 5 years and only crashed once in those 5 years, which was entirely my fault for messing around with my system 32 folder. The other is 2 years old hasn't crashed once and the only thing I've had to do on it is get a new monitor because the old one wasn't good enough for me. The third has lasted 8 years and has never crashed, still runs windows XP on a Pentium 4, real old school. As far as viruses out of all these computers I've only gotten a virus on the first one and that was only once my antivirus deleted it and that's that, so yeah viruses aren't as bad as they are made out to be, sure they can destroy your computer but as long as you don't do dumb stuff like go to websites with a bad reputation on click on all the ads on a website you'll be fine. How many Macbooks offer a 2GB ATI Radeon HD 6770m or something equal to that? None! How many Macbooks offer an Intel Core i7 2630qm for under $1000? None! How many Macbooks offer a 7200 RPM hard drive for a decent price? Few! (GPU=Video Card, HDD = Hard Drive) Look here: http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MC721LL/A?select=select&product=MC721LL/A&mco=MjEyOTY5MDM#service_and_support A 15 inch Macbook with standard parts: -CPU: Intel Core i7 2630QM -GPU: Intel HD 3000 -HDD: 500 GB @ 5400RPM -RAM: 4GB -Optical Drive: DVD Burner -Warranty: Not Mentioned -Screen: 15 in standard screen. This costs $1800 Now look at what I can get off HP.com for the same $1800 http://www.shopping.hp.com/series/category/notebooks/dv6tqe_series/3/computer_store?jumpid=in_r329_personalization/browse1/home_SDP I customized this 15 inch HP DV6T Quad with: -CPU: Intel Core i7 2820QM, far superior to the Mac CPU. -GPU: 2GB Radeon 6770M, far superior the the Mac GPU. -HDD: 750GB @ 7200 RPM, superior to the Mac HDD. -RAM: 8GB of RAM, twice as much as the Mac. -Warranty: 2 Year HP warranty. Apple didn't even mention a warranty. -Battery Life: 2 Batteries one with 5.5 Hours and another with 9 Hours. Apple didn't even offer me an extra battery. -Optical Drive: Blu-Ray player and DVD burner, Apple only has a DVD burner. -Screen: 15 inch True HD 1080P Anti Glare screen. So again why should someone buy an Apple laptop? @Emily can you explain what you mean by Apple stands behind their product?
