PHP Developer Job Questions & Answers

Hi, I have completed a course on php mysql recently and want to start applying for a job. I have a previous experience of 3 years on flex and xslt. I had to take a break for almost 2 years due to some personal reasons. I want to start over as a php developer. I have uploaded my resume on some job portals but the calls I am getting are for experienced php developer jobs. How do I specify in my resume that I am applying as a fresher for php but have a previous experience in other technologies? Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have been working as a junior php developer for the last 4 months. I recently lost my job. Would the job-centre pay for me to become zend certified. This would cost me £200 and would increase my chances in the job market.

Im really only interested in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, and Python. How does Java fit in to web development? Are there web development majors in college? For example say I wanted to be a PHP developer. All of the jobs say a CS degree or similar degree is required. Are there any degrees that focus more on web stuff and less on computer science? Thanks.
