I'm trying to find out the best route, and the quickest yet best quality, to become a nurse practitioner. I'm an RN with an Associate Degree, and have been in the medical field for 29 yrs, since high school. I'm interested in learning something new, and would like to stay in the medical field despite a partial disability I have. This makes it impossible to continue with physical, or even sedentary nursing, so more autonomy would be great. If there are any legitimate at home job for an RN, that would be very helpful in the meantime. Any ideas? I've been Charge nurse in a high acuity med-surg unit in a teaching hospital, and presently Charge in a Surgery/Oncology unit. I also work ENT/Ortho/GI/GU/Oral/Plastics/Derm clinics, and Minor surgery. I was a certified scrub tech prior. I worked in the OR for 10 yrs. I trained at the best, 'Big Charity' in New Orleans. Motto: 'See one, do one, teach one' I specialized in Ortho and Neuro, training new staff. Thanks for input!

I am so tired of hearing myself and my fellow Americans being called lazy.Tired of hearing that Americans won't do the dirty work in this country.Tired of the illegal supporters using this excuse for their cause. I think it's time we put them in their place. Lets tell them what kind of dirty work we do! If you feel comfy sharing your personal stuff, lets tell them who flips the bill for our medical and dental expenses. As for me.....until recently this native/irish girl stocked shelves at a grocery store owned by Chaldeans, (a hard, dirty, back breaking job) min. wage, no benefits. Currently I work the front desk at a hotel for min. wage, no benefits, walk to work, pay all my own medical/dental bills, get no food stamps/welfare/medicare. I live just north of the border in Cal./ have resigned this job/ more than half the housekeeping staff at this hotel are illegals. Soon I'll be unemployed, beat out by illegals again. I'll go pick lettuce if the illegals would get out of the fields. PANCHA...you little sweet heart..thank you for this opportunity, you've made my day! I was born Native American and raised between Reservations & Military bases all over this great country. NOTHING came easy for me and NOTHING was ever given to me. It sure as hell didn't stop me. At 10 I was hunting rattle snakes for $10 a head, at 12 I was mowing lawns with a rusted out push mower(after school and my farm chores were done), saved my $ for a bike, got a paper route when I was 13, at 14 I was working my paper route and picking strawberries till dark, at 16 I was working a fruit packaging plant for $2.08 an hour and going to school, at 18 I was leading a crew of 13 in the same plant on swing shift. I graduated High School working full time all 4 years. Got a college degree in English and Theology, working full time and raised 5 children alone for nearly 10 yrs. I haven't slept much in the last 35 yrs, but I have worked my ass off and not ever taken a hand out. Want to wrestle b***h? hey BLUNT! How about you pay $3.99 a lb. for those oranges so that orange farmer can afford to pay an American citizen a fair wage to pick them for your rich, tight, spoiled hiney? That would just kill your up-do and manicure funds, wow you wouldn't be able to afford the dry cleaning of that cashmere sweater either. Ah golly gee wiz...maybe vanity is worth more than what is right and just and fair to your hard working country men and women. Ah hell let them oranges waste at least blunt can continue to afford her vanity, the farmer can write it off and no illegals will be getting paid for a job an American needs. you know I meant BUNT! LOL

So I live in Phoenix Arizona, and want to get into the gaming industry. But I'm not sure what degree I should aim for. I know about AI's gaming degree, and DeVry's Gaming degree, along with UAT's. Although, I want to think about other degrees that are related or can be useful in terms of game design or getting into a gaming career, and degrees that could be used for other jobs/careers outside of the gaming industry. I would greatly appreciate the help, I know I could get a spcialized gaming degree. But I'm not sure I want to get just that, as who knows if I'll be able to get a job in the industry? Or if you could possibly list off a few careers/jobs that could use a gaming degree other than the gaming industry of course.

I'm trying to get into video games as a career, but I don't really know how to go about doing it. I'm in college, getting an associates in Game Design, possibly a higher degree. I'm also beginning to learn programming so I can put some of my ideas into a demo or two to add onto my resume. I really have two questions- 1. How do I go about getting an internship at a game design company, and which companies are the best to ask? 2. What would be a good platform to build my demos on? Should I flat out learn an programming language, or should I use something like Game Maker?

I have been offered a position at a medical devices company as an International Regulatory Specialist. They don't necessarily ask for experience, so I was wondering if anyone can give me some insights about this position. What are the main duties, and is all of the job paperwork (as one of my friend's put it). Thank you very much

When I negotiated my employment contract I was told that 1) I could work mainly from home and just drop in on the company to do Quality Assurance. 2) That the employer would pay for items associated with my work like ink and paper, 3) That I would be compensated for the use of my personal vehicle if there was travel. Recently my boss told me that 1) she expected me to work at the company location for at 70 to 80 hours a week, 2) They are not paying for my ink, paper and other expenses and the cost of this is coming out of my pocket, 3) I have to have a cell phone on me at all times for business, but they are not paying for my cell phone bill. 4) That they needed me to upgrade my cell phone so that I can get mobile emails, but I have to pay for it myself. I know that one can get unemployment if they quit a job if a reasonable person would quit in the same situation. I have 3 young children and simply can not dedicate myself to work 70 or 80 hours a week. Do you think I would qualify for unemployment if I quit the job under these circumstances?

Im a senior in high school and very interested in a career in medicine because of the challenges it has and because i love helping people. Im going to be starting EMT classes soon and was planning on going to med school to be a doctor, but i became interested in dosimetry because it involves less schooling and involves helping cancer patients. I was just wondering how much interaction i would have with patients and how rewarding of a career it is.

"I'm gonna become a video game tester and get paid lots of money to play games all day LOOOOOL" I've heard this before and I'm curious how it really is. I know some testing is really just people playing the game so the developers can see if people like it, but is that most testing? And do some testers do their best to try and break it? (Lets run at this wall for 10 min to see if I can clip through it). And lastly, how much do they make?

I have been in and out of depression for years and it has gotten worse year after year. I have tried meds and all that have done was gotten sick. And I have tried to got to a psychologist twice. I have a tendency not to trust them that much and have a hard time opening up to them. My main friend I hangout with has a tendency to make my depression worse and what ever self worth I have dispaer with out him even trying. Then he makes it worse by scolding for being depressed. I dont really have another friends except on an mmorpg game. I also get anxity attacks and massive heat aches and chest pains in any job I work at and at places with large crowds and loud noises. The only large crowd and loud noises i was able to stand was at anime conventions. I have also been single my entire life and I think the main reason is my depression and lack of friends. Lifes not all that bad outside of those things. advice and ideas are greatly appriciated and thanks in advance. ps Sorry for ranting and any confusion I may have inflicted.
