SAP Business Analyst Job Questions & Answers

I'm hoping to find a decent business job in this crappy economy. After debating (with myself) whether I'd pursue a generic business degree which comes highly recommended both by peers and most career sites I've been on or go bold with a much-harder Economics degree, I finally decided to go with the latter. Exactly what kind of jobs could I land with an Economics degree? Is it even advisable to pursue it?

I am an MBA with specialization in Finance and I have an offer to be trained on Peoplesoft. (A) I am told that the financials module of Peoplesoft is a viable option for a lucrative career (as a Business/ Financial Analyst). Is this true? (B) Or is there any other module of Peoplesoft that has more scope in the market? (C) How difficult would it be to make a move to some other ERP s/w like SAP a few years down the line - if for some reason I so desire then? (D) Which are the good sites to look out for jobs in Peoplesoft?

I'm soon to have a bachelor's degree in economics and I'm trying to find a job. Where, other than banks, would be good places to apply with that degree?

I graduated in 2003 from rider U in NJ and currently working at a banking company as a project analyst, not my ideal career and I never thought about what I wanted to do when I was in college because it always seemed so long away. Now I feel trapped in a job I hate. Just looking for advice on career moves, and I can’t take a pay cut I have a family I'm supporting.

I have Marketing BS degree and I have taken Photoshop courses and I teach myself code, but I do not have the confidence to compete with all of the experts out there because I ma still learning and I would hate to take on new clients and disappoint them and get terminated. I do not like sales but I do enjoy working ina nd around computers, but I am not as smart as I might think. When you look at my resume it is guppy with most of my background working in and around the warehouse(which doesn't pay and I do not enjoy it). I want to change direction, but I cannot seem to get the ball rolling. It seems like the world has forgotten about me, and I just woke up from a three year long coma. How can I get salaried doing what I like to do. There is just too much competition out there I cannot get noticed by the companies that matter. I would like to go into business myself, but every time I try it seems like some scummier wants to jerk me out of money I don't have. I even volunteered down at the American Red Cross and the Humane Society and that is even competitive for volunteer opportunities. What has this world come to when a man cannot be productive anymore. I can't wait til Obama is out of office and we get a real leader in office again. I am suffering here.

When COMPANIES advertise for job openings the salary budget is "Negotiable". Then they get the employment agencies to help them to source for the same openings but setting different salary budgets for different employment agencies to work on. Currently employment agencies “Do Not Disclose Companies Name" to jobseekers they represent. Consequently the same jobseeker may be sending to the same "Company" directly or through different employment agencies with different salary budgets. 1) Now if you are the Company receiving the same CVs from the same jobseeker with different salary budget via different sources what will you think and do with the same jobseeker ? 2) If you are a Jobseeker, do you think you will get the job ? 3) If you are the Employment Agency do you think you can close the deal ? The consequences will be the Companies asking to see more CVs and lose confidence with the jobseekers at large and ended up taking a longer time for employment agencies to close deals. This will affect the survival of jobseekers and employment agencies. So I urge Employment Agencies “To Disclose Company Names" they represent to all jobseekers from the start to avoid duplicated CVs with different salary budgets ended in the hands of Companies. Jobseekers and Employment Agencies have to work closely to share information about Companies who are out there to "Test Market" and wasting jobseekers and employment agencies time, effort and money bearing in mind that the Companies do not pay a single cent at all. By not disclosing and sharing information about the "Companies" amongst employment agencies and jobseekers it will only drive employment agencies and jobseekers into desperation. Companies will take advantage of this weakness and keep setting lower and lower salary budgets for employment agencies to work on. This will further create for frustration and desperation amongst employment agencies and jobseekers. The job market in Singapore is small and the employment agencies and jobseekers have to work "Smart" and not let the Companies “Fool” them. Employment agencies should not worry about jobseekers sending their CVs direct to their Clients cause most of the Companies have that "Shopping for the Best Candidate" attitude through various sources. At the end of the day it is all about which jobseeker has the "BEST MATCH" in the eyes of the Companies not the employment agencies nor the jobseekers. Companies may instruct employment agencies “Not to Disclose" their Companies Names to jobseekers so that they are better "Manipulate" jobseekers and employment agencies. Companies usually want to portray themselves as good employers who are willing to pay what the jobseekers are worth for. So they choose to hide behind these employment agencies to "test market" without dirtying their own hands. I WELCOME PUBLIC COMMENTS ON THIS ISSUE !! I am a recent graduate of a tier three school, with a degree in finance. I currently have no experience, so I am basically in the entry level status. Anyways, I would love to pursue an analyst position or possibly get involved with budgeting/forecasting. I guess you could say those are my goals. I still havent truly decided what I want to do. I have interviewed and thought about some possible jobs, I just dont know what is going to get me the experience I need. I dont want dead end experience. Work in Retail Banking - I have purused personal banker positions, but most are telling me to start out as a teller! Work in Mortgage Origination - this is with a bank that specializes in mortgages (Indymac Bank) Offered me a position, but its hourly. Basically im trying to get a job thats not necessarily glamorous paying the big bucks, but instead allows me to develop good work ethic, with the possibility to learn and grown and mold myself into a essential player in society!

I'm considering majoring in economics when I go to college. I want to have a political career, but since there is no guarantee I would get elected to a political office, what are some other job options I would have if I got a degree in economics? I'd probably also minor in political science. Thanks.
