My friend (an Indian) has got Senior Software Engineer job in Emirates. His posting will be in Dubai. They are offering him 1,17,000 Dirham per annum + 2 Years Employment Visa + Joining Ticket+ Accomodation for 10 days How is this job? He is wondering whether to accept it or not. How much salary do you think will be suitable? He is in talk with them. They may agree for transportation. If he gets transportation but not housing, then how much salary would be ok? Anyway, I am suggesting to him to reject the offer.

Hello, I am interviewing people for the position of Senior Software Engineer, and a big chunk of the job is solving problems (s/he will be developing testing software). So, what are the best logical questions that you have been asking job prospects? Or if you are a job seeker, what's the best question that you've been asked? The goal is to see the candidate's thought process, how they approach a problem, etc. Please provide the answers (or at least the hints) too.

For a senior software engineer/architect with a family looking to move to a country with reasonable job outlook and progressive (i.e. left wing politics). These are good answers so far, but let's suppose that the person really disagrees with US policy in foreign affairs, energy, and environment.

I am a senior in high school and live with a middle class family. My dad is a software engineer and my mom is an investment banker so I live pretty good. My parents want me to get a proffesional job like a doctor but I want to be a truck driver. They said if I get a labor job I will have financial problems. But all I wanna do in life outside of work is watch tv and movies, eat, play basketball, play video games, have internet and maybe travel to a different country once a year. And I dont plan on having kids. Can I do those things if I get a blue collar job?

I joined this new company as a Senior Software Engineer. But so far no good work has been assigned to me, while I was promised exciting development work during my interviews. I have only been given testing kind of work so far which doesn't suite my job profile. I feel redundant in the team and looks like I have been hired without any plan. Everything in the team seems to be happening unprofessionally and by favouritism. I feel ignored and unwanted. So I deliberately skip team meetings. I've already been thinkin to either switch my team or the company itself. today they are going out for lunch for they have completed a "sprint" (a kind of unit release) of which I wasn't even part of. I feel like not going with them. What do you say?
