I've been a software developer for a number of years, and in my last two jobs, I found that I was smarter than my manager, or even VP of Engineering, and can do their job better than them. I've tried applying for management jobs at other companies, and nobody takes my resume seriously since I haven't been a manager. I don't have an MBA, and don't plan on getting one. Any suggestions?

I want to go into the field of gaming and was wondering what majors I would have to take to become a game or software developer. Do I need to take game development, game design. I am not the best artist, but I am great with computers. Do I have to learn C++ code, javascript, stc. Also what are some good colleges or universities that are available for the jobs. Like the Art Institutes, DeVry, etc. It would be good for in state, Virginia, but out of state is fine.

I am thirteen years old and I know for sure I want to make computer programs and/or computer/laptops themselves, I also wouldn't mind a software job in the videogame industry. I have been searching careers for an 8th grade English project. I am very confused on what the difference between a Software Engineer and a Software Developer. Are they the same thing? I would like to know so I know what career I am looking for in the future. I am very skilled in computers and have already taken a high-school credit computer class (Computer Applications) and I am only in 8th Grade. (Also I would love it if one of these two careers involves making power points. I love powerpoints.)
