A 2007-06-27 job posting on NYASLA's web site suggests it's AutoCAD (see below), but previous Answers have suggested Maya. Have they changed recently? Are those the same package under two different names? From the listing: "HGTV’s Hidden Potential is looking for talented, motivated Jr. Architects and Designers AutoCAD operators to join our Design Team. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our on camera architect and designer in helping them achieve their visions. We design a high volume of residences and at the end of the job, a Jr. Architect will walk away with amazing 3D animations and still renderings of their design work. It is a fun, fast-paced design environment." "The ideal candidate has an eye for design – structural and interior – is proficient in AutoCAD, and is able to contribute to the creative design process on a daily basis. One must be computer savvy as our design team continually uses various software tools and FTP sites..."

Also, is it necessary to hire a web designer for this? The website would have a data base of real estate listings. There would be a fair amount of graphics and I would like to use Flash if possible because it looks really good. I realize that my question is a little clueless; I'm not a techie. I appreciate your patience and advice!

I have been browsing web sites that provide information on best grad schools and rankings in corresponding years. Moreover, these talk about a generalized college ranking. Can someone suggest me how should I go about the selection of courses and best universities. Previous to this, I have been asking the same question in many blogs, orkut and facebook but I end up reading posts by people saying that their university is the best. Please be specific as to why you chose a particular university. Thanks.

I'm in my second year at a 2-year school and i'm just beginning architecture courses. I don't have proficient skills in design classes or auto CAD. Could I still look for an internship? Should I still look for jobs that prepare for architecture ? Would any type of job in design be good enough for an architect major? I think I have about 5 to7 more years to go in school, is that enough time for the economy to get better for architecture?

I am 16 and my goal in life is to become and architect. What steps should i take to achieve this goal and what kind of schooling do I need to acquire to become the best possible architect I can be? I have heard I can get degrees to cut out other peoples jobs in the process of building a building by getting a "Drafts man" degree I think? Thus allowing me to make more money by doing the job of more than one person and still have it go along with my primary job. Is that possible?
