I am currently looking to find another position either in the legal(currently I am a legal secretary) or corporate hedge fund/investment industries. The purpose of this move is to find a company that sponsers my future plans to obtain an mba. Are there any corporate law firms that help fund a Masters in Business Administration or should i just look into hedge fund companies/businesses? Also does anyone know how these hedge fund companies work, I see the perks and benefits but what are the cons?

I am a Legal Secretary and although I have done some litigation, my main focus has been real estate and corporate and I have mostly been in the document preparation part of it. I got this new job and I will be expected to review discovery documents and schedule depositions. It is a very small office so part of my duties will be more than just regular secretarial work. Bottom line, I have never schedule a deposition before. Thanks.

I work as a legal secretary at a law office and I am seeking a new job because my work is becoming monotonous and there is no room for movement. However, most of the companies that are hiring or have good paying positions are our clients. Should I apply?

I want to know what are the job functions of a company secretary. How is a typical day like for a CS. Is it a complete desk job or does it involve travelling too? Is it a very demanding job? Please dont copy paste from the website as I know what is written there. It would be really nice if some one who knows about the profession could help me.

I just wanna get a general sense of what a typical daily workday is like for a lawyer who doesn't work at court but rather in the office setting most of the time. What are the typical job duties like for real estate, patent, immigration, family, corporate lawyer? How much travel, phone calls, and reviewing documents is involved in work? How many hrs do lawyers typically work? Thanks in advance for any insights.

I know a person who has a speech disability and is sometimes difficult to understand, however, he would love to be a lawyer and has the grades, the passion , and the ability to be a lawyer. Would this person stand a chance in today's corporate world and have the possibility of a good job? In other words, are there fields of work for a lawyer that do not require him to have to speak in open court? It would be a waste of money if there were not these opportunities available, so better knowing in advance. Very few people would tell him honestly for fear of being "sued" (ridiculous!).

What does it take? I heard there are some schools for this profession, they last couple of months, do you know how much they cost these days? A friend from Phoenix and lawyer I know told me that for some companies no school is required. I have 4 years of law school in Europe, but I still did not graduate, do you think it could help at all? Do you know anyone from Europe who continued law school in USA? Thanks you!
