Do legitimate companies really interview on Yahoo Messenger?

I received an e-mail that someone wants to interview me for a job on Yahoo messenger. They didn't give any details about the company or position at all. I have applied for quite a few lately and wonder if this is for real or a scam.It sounds fishy. What do you think?

Almost all of them are scams. I know some companies will do pre-screening with a telephone interview but in my almost 20 years of working, including being involved in recruiting staff in various positions, I have never heard of a company doing an IM interview... More

If the jobs you applied for were online , from a Craigslist ad, or from some spam email that you received..it sounds highly fishy. If you go ahead with it, come post what they say about the job before you do much else, and let the people on Y!A check out for scam potential.
