 | I recently graduated with a Civil Engineering degree and I would really like to begin a career as a Traffic Engineer. I have about a year of experience in the field from an internship, but I have not been seeing a lot of job postings for an entry-level Traffic Engineer. Is it possible to be a Traffic Engineer right out of college? If not, any suggestions on how to begin accumulating some experience to help me reach my goal would be appreciated!
Thanks!

 | I have two job offers, both entry level. One is for roadway design, the other for traffic engineering. What would each job do on a day to day basis? Is one more in-demand/well-respected than the other? Is one or the other more interesting, as in, new challenges on a day to day basis?

 | I'm entering my senior year of high school and i'm very interested in traffic engineering. I'm planning on majoring in civil engineering, but i hear you need job experience before you can land most traffic engineering jobs. i was wondering what i should do to maximize my chances of landing a job in the field, and what sorts of jobs i should get before actually becoming a traffic engineer. also, where in the US are traffic engineers most needed/hired? thanks :)

 | So, I want to be an architect. I've decided that it makes more sense for me specifically to get a bachelors degree in some type of engineering and then get a masters in architecture instead of doing the 5 year bachelors of architecture program. My reasoning behind this decision is that 1) I feel like engineering has more job security and it could always be a backup plan if architecture didn't work out for some reason and 2) I feel like an engineering degree could help me to become a better architect.
I've been told that civil engineering would be a great major in my case. What exactly does a civil engineer do? Would it relate to an architecture job in any way?
I also want to minor in either architectural or structural engineering, depending on which college I go to and if it offers it. Do you think this would be necessary or not? I honestly don't think that it would take any more time because all of the classes towards the minor would count as electives towards the civil engineering major.
Please give me some insight. Thanks in advance!

 | I really like computers so I was thinking what kinda jobs are there were you have to work on a computer? And not like stay at home work, but like buisiness stuff I suppose? I would say something like being in a cubicle but Im not really sure what I would be working on then? Anyway any job ( thats not at home) that I can work on computer would be cool, and please explain what I would be doing. Thanks!

 | I only have a high school diploma. Working right now on my degree in Computer Science. I really want a desk job of some kind but not doing phones all day. I can take phone calls but not all day. I'm just so ready to be done with warehouse jobs and into something that has more growth potential.
What do I need to do in order to get out from doing warehouse jobs and into getting a white collar job? I wouldn't mind working for a law firm doing entry level work for example.

 | Hello, i'm a junior in high school , my gpa is somewhere between an 83 and an 86 (im not sure at the moment =p) and am interested in two fields of jobs. One being computers/technology, one being pharmacy. But if possible i would more enjoy a job in computers and technology seeing pharmacy requires a lot of school. What are some jobs that pay decent that have to do with building computers, or possibly overseeing a system of computers or anything of the sort?

 | My nephew has asked me to research his interest in becoming an aircraft controller. I have never heard of this field being a major in colleges or universities, so I would imagine classes would be connected to major airports. If you are an aircraft controller or you know someone who is, could you offer any advice on how to get into the field.
I do know that controllers have to have sharp memories, make flash decisions, be cool under pressure and work with other busy controllers and high tech equipment.
How much do beginning controllers make per year, how long is the training, is it a hard profession to get hired into, and is there any open positions when training is completed?
Thanks for any and all advice about the profession of aircraft traffic controllers
