My boyfriend plans on becoming a mechanic through army training, but me (being his girlfriend and wanting the best for him) noticed that level 1 mechanics don't make very much money. So how does one become a level 2 auto mechanic?

Would you rather have a mechanic come to you instead of going to a shop to fix, or change anything and everything on your car/motorcycle? Just wanted to get everyone's opinion. That would be really nice I think.

What are common jobs for adults living in trailer parks to have? Would it be construction workers, plumbers, mechanics? This is the best time to pull out the drug dealer jokes since most drug dealers are from trailer parks but I'm looking for other answers.

My husband is a trailer/transport mechanic and he is worried about his health, cause of breathing in all the particles in the air and plus the shop has poor ventilation, he does wear a mask but finds it annoying at times but wears it most of the time. Just wondering if this is extremely hazardous job to ones health in the long run.

I am interested in purchasing an ancient travel trailer and the wheels and axle (single axle) are from 1946... so they've got a bit of rust and stuff, to say the least. Would this be a very difficult job requiring many mechanic hours? I guess im just looking for a ballpark figure.

I basically want to teach myself to the same standard as a qualified uk mechanic, but work/life commitments don't allow my to go to college or night classes. I can't get an apprenticeship either unfortunately, but refuse to give up on my career choice! Can anyone advise me on any textbooks I can buy, or books with relevant information? Any advice would be great fully received1 Thanks in advance

I'm in the market to buy a new car. I was told by my mechanic that the larger the engine, the longer the vehicle will last, is this true? Is a V8 really more reliable and longer lasting than a V6? I don't want to buy another car in the next 10 to 15 years. I've had my current car since 1998, it's a v6 Accord. I've done some research and the fuel efficiency seems about the same for many v6 and v8 engines. Thanks so much for your help.

I work at a local dealership shop and even though we have some pretty good hand cleaner (Zep Reach), it sometimes ust won't do the job. What do some of you other guys use? Also, I have severely dry and cracked hands, where my skin is starting to part and bleed. What's the best lotion to help bring them back to life? I've heard good things about Keri lotion, but I don't know what kind to get.

Okay, so the dealership told me I need the following repairs: *Front and rear pinion seals are leaking *Gear box is leaking *Front Left CV Boot needs replaced The dealership estimated the repairs at $700 so I took it to a private mechanic. They want to charge me $1056. This is just too much. I plan to haul a travel-trailer once I figure this stuff out, so I need to know how serious these repairs are. Are they necessary?
