Warehouse Associate Job Questions & Answers

Sort by:
I am a warehouse associate in a small local business and I am gaining experience in assembly, packing, shipping, receiving, inventory, and some quality control. I am the only one in the warehouse, so I am pretty much responsible for everything that happens in that part of the company. What are some good paying jobs where this experience would make me a competitive applicant? I also have an Associates in Science degree. Thanks!

I have been workiing on and off as a warehouse associate for 3 years. Since I was laid off in September 2012, I have not been able to find work. This semester I decided to register at the community college and scheduled all my classes(15 units total) on Mondays and Wednesdays to leave time for a job, should I finally find one. I still am dilligently filling out apps online and at every store, gas station, etc. that I stop at. If someone could better explain how this would effect my eligibility for unemployment benefits, I would greatly appreciate it.

I work at a coal mine in Illinois, and though I have been doing a steady rate of work for the past 3 years, I am being pushed out of my job as a warehouse associate so that a former underground worker can have my job. The problem I have is that she knows nothing of how to do my job. I am being moved to an outdoor processing plant position that I have no knowledge of, or training in. Isnt it illegal to push someone out of one position and then immediately give that position to someone else for no reason? Oh another thing (this may be the reason for my forceful move) she is currently 8 months pregnant, and (from what I have been told) very good friends with my immediate boss.

What are the jobs (positions) associated with a trucking, freight, transportation business? (Including office jobs like secretary, accountant, lawyer etc...) Also what are the jobs associated with a warehouse? Which people work where in a warehouse? (Again including guards etc...) I'm looking for the jobs related to the business, not it's functions!

I came across an ad by WIS International looking for inventory associates. I think this job is where people go to stores and warehouses with hand-held devices and count inventory. I am considering applying for the job but would like to get some feedback from people who have worked in the field. Is it hard? Boring? High pressure? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I know that you can get almost any job with a Mathematics degree, and I also that Mathematics graduates have the LOWEST levels of UNEMPLOYMENT, but which jobs can they get exactly? Specific details please? I know that you can be a maths teacher/lecturer, and that's obvious, but I really don't want to go into teaching. I also know that you can have a job in Finance and Accounting, but they are also obvious.

I am a quiet and hardworking person, but because I am not outgoing, I have a hard time getting jobs like being a server or sales associate or receptionist. Those jobs just don't fit my personality, and the hiring people can see that. I can't fake outgoingness either unfortunately. Any job tips from others who have been in this situation or know of others who are?

I only have an associates in science degree and am looking to possibly become an engineering technologist. Looking around online, most places require at least a 4 year degree and/or a couple of years experience. Are there any companies that offer entry level positions or offer internships without experience? Thanks

I applied online for a position at a warehouse, and they sent a response with a scheduled appointment date to fill out paperwork and application. It is a floor associate position not management. Should I wear nice black/khaki dress pants or clean, dark jeans? White or black shirt and tie or just a collared button up shirt and belt?
