 | I love weapons not just because they are cool but also how there used the techinques and the era's in which they were used. I wanna know more about weapons and have a career in them not like army stuff but like a professor teaching about methods and how the were developed. However i don't know how to accomplish this or even what the correct job title for this is.
Not just guns i like early era weapons from japan, china, anywhere (swords, daggars, specially developed ones)

 | I have a 2005 Volkswagon beetle convertible, and it's having various electrical issues. Having discovered that replacing the motor on one of my little windows will cost me $700 plus labor, I'm looking to trade it in for something that isn't so expensive to repair.
I was looking at a corvette, 1990, and was wondering, how do you know how expensive a brand is to repair? Are Corvettes generally cheaper, the same, or more expensive than beetles? What about Mazda brand?

 | I hired a developer for a site back in the beginning of August. From the beginning of the project, he assured me (as stated in a contract we both signed) that the project would be complete in six weeks. It is now the twenty-second of October and the project is nowhere near completion.
Each time I gripe, complain, or ask for my money back ($700, which admittedly is cheap for a designer), he comes up with tons of excuses, and he says that he cannot refund me because of the work he has already done (however I haven't seen much more than a site that I am completely dissastisfied with (he has a problem following my instructions exactly, usually completely missing the mark entirely), My question to you, the community, is how normal is this? Have any of you had similar experiences with designers? This is my second web developer for the same project and I'm just wondering if I'm picking sorry designers or if this is common behavior. Thank you.

 | I am an undergraduate photography student looking to seriously start my own business. I have been offered a few paid jobs coming up during the summer which will give me some pretty good portfolio work, and I have personal work that I have done as well which I will implement into that. My main questions are related to the business practices themselves:
1. How did you end up starting your business, and what are some of the obstacles that you faced along the way?
2. Is there a way to set up a "store" on your site, where clients may order and pay for prints via your photography site, or do you offer only digital copies of images (Basically, what is your method for giving clients their photos)?
3. When taking a job, are there any contracts or paperwork that you have to draft between yourself and the client?
4. What kinds of fees do you implement for your services? Do you charge a sitting fee, by the hour, or by the type of shoot you're doing?
Any other tips and advice are appreciated as well! Thank you!
Also, when it comes to building a website, what was your method? Did you use a site template on a hosting site and pay for a domain name, hire a professional, or make it yourself? Thanks again!

 | I have recently been offered a position as a graphic designer for a small scale marketing boutique in Chicago. The last conversation I had with the company left pricing as a topic to be discussed when I start this week. In reviewing my research on the company, I had stumbled upon a helpful piece of information that was posted on their website. This finding stated that a client will be subject to an upwards of $75/hour for graphics services depending on the enormity of the request. Consequently, I seek an experienced opinion on what level of compensation I should expect to receive in this position.
Remember, pricing has not yet been discussed and I intend on negotiating a reasonable medium. Below are two links for which you can download a copy of my resume and sample work. This may help in your evaluation based on what the employer has already been exposed to.
