Hi, I was a victim of hit and run and my car was heavily damage back in January 2011. I brought my car to an auto body shop to get fixed, however they were doing sloppy job, such as missing parts from my car and claimed that I never had it. Luckily, I took pictures before we left the car with them. Also there were a few misalignments on the external part of the car and they said it's really hard to restore the car back to its original condition. The fixing part took me about 3 months back-and-forth because they kept messing around with my car. In December 2011, I noticed cracks inside the headlight housing, so I brought the car to another auto body shop, where the estimator and that body shop did some investigation. During that inspection, they have confirmed that the front and back panel were never fixed by previous auto body shop - which obviously the result of hit-and-run incident, and the car is now misaligned and dangerous to be on the road. My insurance requested me to ask them to take full financial responsibility, including the cost for car rental for this job. Is the job that auto body shop did considered illegal? If they decline to take full responsibility, can I take this matter to higher authority such as lawyer/ police? Thank you.

When i had work done to my front bumper i see that the people who did the job, did not only a shabby job, they didn't even replacet all the nuts/screws needed to secure my bumper in place., dose anyone know the average cost for an "LICENSED" auto body shop to reset and replace my front bumper correctly, and add the neccessary screws , so that it wont fall off while im driving...lol, ps i wont go back to the first guys cause i later found out they were not even licensed to work on my vehicle, and i dont want them near my car again, all your answers are appreciated.

I have a blue 1989 Nissan Pickup. It used to be blue, but now it's baby blue because the paint has faded so much. How much would a decent paint job cost, and where could I get one close to San Ramon California?

After about 3 weeks the manager at the time had told me how he saw potential in me and would see if I could try and be an estimator/appraiser. Well he quit the next week. I never got compensated for my estimating course, nor had a different job title. Anyhow. 2 months in with the new guy, he did the same thing, except he got me to Learn how to polish/show quality detail. Eventually I would go into prep then paint. What got me in this time was he promised me a wage increase, however I was forced (literally) to work over 55+ hours a week, mon-sat. As soon as his 3 months hit he was fired, still the same hours. At that time the production manager told me to go under his wing and he'd "take me places". So, with a lot attendants wage, I became his "unofficial assistant" which in a nutshell, Meant I did half his work, plus my own. Id take over when he took time off (accumulated it was 2 months, keep in mind he had started 2 months after I had). Eventually the third manager came along and offered me to be officially "assistant production manager" which meant I would make at least 5 bucks more an hour. I was estatic! all that hard work, doing his job, and even letting it slide that he'd call me his b***h all the time, finally paid off. Believe me this guy wasn't the easiest to work for. So he proposed this idea to my boss. He shut it down, saying that he thought I wasnt nearly ready, but that I was almost there. So he gave me 3 new job details. One was to coordinate sub trades, to be incharge of quality control and vehicle delivery, and last was to be front end superviser (for parts department and detail), while keeping the same wage. then the general manager was fired. Well he got the feeling that I was a threat, so he went to the newest general manager and had me demoted back to lot and detail. He makes an example/acts condescending every day, and it really lowers my self esteem. I just wanna go back to school. Am I qualified for? I live in Calgary, Alberta. Help..

I had this car accident last year, and the whole length of left-hand side of my vehicle was severely scraped by a tow truck. So my car was sent to this bodyshop to get repaired. After I picked my car up, I found that windows were squeaking so loud when I bring them down, and the rear door was not even fit properly. And the anntena was stuck and won't come down. So I took my car back to the bodyshop, but he told me to go back to ICBC to reclaim and come back to him. But an estimator at ICBC said they already paid almost 5000 dollars to the bodyshop, and it's their job to satisfy customers. This guy at bodyshop is on vacation now, and I'm pretty sure he will not fix my car again. He always gives me some lame excuses to avoid fixing my car. Have you ever been in a similar situation? What should I do? Should I sue this bodyshop? I mean I'm so angry at this guy's attitude and rudeness...What would you do if you were me?

My car was in a hail storm and the estimator did an estimate on having the whole car fixed by PDR ( paintless dent removal). If this did not work they would bondo the car and paint it. The hood, top of the car, both doors on the passenger side, front quarter panel, back quarter panel, and the strip around the windows on the passenger side are damaged. They are half dollar and quarter size dents. Because I own the car, they would not give me an estimate except to base the whole car on dentless removal. They would not estimate the car on true repair, meaning if they had to bondo and paint the car. Is this right?
