Copier Technician Job Questions & Answers

I am an aircraft mechanic but my company may be having some layoffs. I saw a job posting for a Copier Service Technician. With some specialized training, I am sure I could do this kind of job. I am trustworthy, can think on my feet, troubleshoot well and handle customers. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the salary in this field. Thanks, Jimmy

I'm trying to do a career change. I'm currently a copier service technician and I'm trying to break into network administration. I have some experience with networking due to working with networked copiers/printers. I also have done research on the matter on my own time. The problem is, "my own time" was not formal education or an actual job. How do I place this in my resume?

I have always wondered how people who repair atm's get their job. I have never seen a job advert for an atm repair man, and I have never seen a school that teaches people how to fix atm's. Atm= automatic teller machine.

I'm currently enlisted as Advanced Electronic Computer Field (AECF) and ship out in September, however that is not my job of choice. I wanted Intellegence (IS) however I got stuck with AECF because there were no openings. The more I research AECF the more I think I may like it and don't want to switch to Intelligence. Based off my research I haven't been able to find out much about either job after the navy, besides that AECF i could be an electrician or something. Has anyone here found personal success after the Navy with either job? I am currently about 1/2 way to having a computer information technology degree from Purdue, and I know that Intel deals with computers slightly, which is one reason why I wanted to do Intel. However I also know that as an AECF i come out of A-school as an E4 and we'll most likely make E5 very quickly, and as an Intel I'm stuck at E3 (I have enough college credits to qualify). Which job is more beneficial after the navy?

I am a copier service technician/ IT specialist. I put about 3-4K miles on the company car a week driving to and from calls. The car comes home with me every night, and it is a larger SUV type vehicle that is stuffed to the gills with parts for service. Today the car blew the engine. now my boss is trying to tell me I have to use my personal vehicle and refuses to get a rental for me as he has any other time any of the company cars have needed service. He offered to pay me mileage which honestly wouldn't even cover the gas let alone maintenance and wear&tear on my tiny little 2dr car that would even fit all the parts in it in the first place and is currently in need of service as well. Is there anything that can protect me in this situation because the employer is not providing me with the means of transportation to be able to perform my job that is very travel intensive? thanks in advance for any insight! the vehicle receives oil changes every 5k miles and it had plenty of oil in it. I know this because it dumped all over the road and sprayed all over the engine bay. but I understand the concern. I basically left saying call me when the car is fixed and I will come back to work. but who know when that will be. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR ANSWERS I am looking specifically for anything anyone might know about any legal obligations for this so if it comes down to it and cant find another job in time that I can collect unemployment. PS small company.. no HR ... my boss is the owner I live in Pennsylvania, USA

I'm looking for some pranks to pull on my co-workers. Now I'm somebody who finds things that have been done a billion times boring, for example the cubicle full of packing peanuts, or the office with cups of water all around. I'm looking for something that requires a lot of planning or set-up...or it can be quick if it's something that is just downright BRILLIANT. Here's an example of one that I feel isn't overdone and is just plain amazing: we had someone photocopy a single paperclip onto about 50 pieces of paper, which then were randomly dispersed back into the copier tray, so every so many copies after that had a paperclip randomly on it. It got to the point that our admin assistant actually called in a technician to fix it. That, is the kind of thing I'm looking for. And please, I'm not looking for lectures on maturity or professionalism, I'm very aware of what I'm doing. Thanks in advance!

I'm 17 and I'll be 18 this summer, and I'm graduating next month. I was wondering how old one has to be to work at the public library? (I know I can't be a librarian, because you need an actual degree), I was thinking maybe I could work as a shelver and maybe move up to the circulation desk. Just wondering, how much would that pay, possibly?

He is currently in boot camp and then has A and C schools. He will be an E-4 going into school. I know he could potentially be gone for about a year. Will he get any leave during that time? Is there a break between schools or between Boot camp and A school? Is there a place that ETs are typically stationed? Is it even a promising field? We have heard good things about it, but it would be nice to hear from an ET. :)

I am a service technician for a copier company. They were rather small when I started with them but now they are growing. I have always used my personel vehicle for use on my service calls but now it is becoming a hassle. They told me I can get paid for my mileage but my car is paid for and is getting close to its last leg. It has been in the shop for this past week and my employer has started to complain about it because I've had to use his delivery truck....Do I have the right to tell him that I don't want to use my personal vehicle for company use anymore without him being able to fire me? Any suggestion or advice or answers are much appreciated. Thanks!!!
