I wanted to take some folks' opinion here in regards to my potential employment, so please give me your honest response as if you were a recruiting manager. i'll try to be as concise as possible I've graduated from a university in virginia, with BS in Electrical Engineering, right before graduation i've had an internship with Power company, then after that worked with federal agency, but didn't involve much engineering, i worked there fore 3 years and half. Then i decided, that this job wasn't inspiring at all in the long term, i wanted to be part of big projects, the reason BTW i had to accept the previous job, is because i came fresh of college broke and needed to support my family. So i applied to Virginia Tech, i got accepted for a master program int eh same field, right around the same time, i had mitigating family cirumstances that i had to be aborad for a period of time...So i was taking care of family memeber, i started a master program in Electrical engineering -control systems in France in a university "among the best in france", i graduated in sep 2012 , while there i wan't able to find a job in my career promptly, so i thought while looking for a job i'll being another program that is related and complimentary, i started a second master in sep 2012 in applied mathematics....now in April 2013, i am about to finish "the program in france is only one year if you have already another master"... my concern now that i am returning to the states, i would like to know, how i should i answer this jump in my career, first being a job that didn't had engineering application, then going abroad and getting a second master degree in applied mathematics....i'm concerned that this would reflect as somebody who doesn't know what he's doing, when in truth it's just that job requires sometime and a bit of luck...., i'm keep thinking that all this detailes would likely to evoke a sense of instability from my side for an employer, i don't like too much explanation, and emotions in job interviews as we all know that is in fact viewed negatively. Thanks a lot for your inputs

I'm looking to dig deep here...there's the obvious commercial and industrial jobs, such as computer hardware and software, electrical circuits manufacturing, defense contractors, but what else? All I really know of are patent inspectors. And other fields that you know of, please share, thanks!

Regardless of trade and salary, where is there like a supply shortage of qualified candidates or major growing demand? I am thinking physicians in prairie provinces is always way at the top Perhaps public accountants with knowledge of International reporting standards would be good for anyone in North America or abroad interested in working in Canada through the Visa process But what about jobs involving production and innovation Accounting, finance, stat, actuarial work pays quite well because they enable money management, but ironically these jobs do not create themselves. They exist because there are existing product and service markets driven by small businesses And those small businesses if they are also financial institutions, are backed by some market that does something tangible. If Canada wants to be more than just a byproduct of financial security of global productions, then there needs to be innovative fields that produce things that make life easier for ordinary people to do what they need to do to be satisfied in their lives What are these things? Tourism is another fun market but it's just a gift of nature's redistribution of sunlight and precipitation and climate and flora and fauna from some global citizens to others But there seems to be 2 kinds of ways to strike it rich One is to get money out of consumers however you can...this is the easier way but is not the best for long-term Canada culture This is the virgin islands and Aruba method Financial sector jobs and legal jobs combine into a game played between wealthy people and other wealthy people and it's a game but doesn't create new innovative wealth Retail is just enslaving the developing world to work for the developed world Medicine has some real value But the most real value is sciences, engineering, manufacturing, knowledge of how to make things better As far as long-term value created in Canada by Canadians Based on my research I would give top award to the Agricultural program at U of Manitoba which combines science and engineering techniques with Canada's earth and soil and labour and toil to improve Canadian agricultural exports by means of genetically modified technology This is uniquely rooted wealth creation straight from Canada as removed from global financial forces as possible. This is real Canadian wealth. Yes oil in Alberta sounds great but you can only drill what is there you can't make crude from sun and rain.
