Does anyone know what technician jobs or careers there are in the electronics/electrical field that are not set in an industrial environment?

I just graduated from the electronics engineering technician program at Niagara College. Everywhere I have applied to jobs all around the world and the only responses Ive recieved explain taht I need more experience. What did some of you do right out of school? I was set to join the military but health problems are now keeping me out indefinitely. Where is the best place in the world to get an entry level job for electronics? Please forgive the grammar and typing mistakes.

I am getting very fed up as a long time Electronics Technician that can never find a good high paying job, so now I want to know what other areas can I cross train too. There is no respect for electronic repair techs anymore. Sucks! Thanks.

I want to go to school to study electronics but I have some concerns. My father works in the same field but his job requires him to have a high level clearance. If I were to graduate. I wouldn't be able to get in the same field being that I have bipolar disorder. I was wondering if there were any other major groups of employers that would hire electronics technicians other than the defense industry. Also I would like to know if they make as much money as those who are employed in the defense industry.

I leave for Basic Training in 11 days and signed my contract for Nuclear Field. I plan on being an ET (electronics technician). I know it will obviously involve nuclear power and probably power plants, but I'm looking for the specific jobs there or possibly research and development jobs I could get into.

I am finally only about 3 months from graduating from my "Electronics technician" course. 12 more exams thank god, I had no idea this course was gonna be this tough, there is SO much to learn. The math is tough but fun. Anyway what are my chances of finding a job when I graduate? Is it really difficult to get that first break in as a Tech? What is the typical pay, I was told 18-20 to start, sound right? This is in NJ if that helps. Thank you for any info at all.

I'm interested in joining the Navy and becoming a nuclear-trained Electronics Technician (ET). You know, operating the reactor on an aircraft carrier. For my actual career, I want to be a nuclear reactor operator, so you can see how the two coincide. My question: If I do end up becoming a Navy Nuke ET, will I be qualified as a civilian nuclear reactor operator (at a nuclear power plant) WITHOUT any further college education?

I'm currently doing the HSC in high school and I'm interested in becoming an Electronics Engineering Technician. I'm interested in the amount of mathematics they have to do in their jobs; I imagine the qualified Engineers would do that? The subjects I do are: General Maths Standard English Business Studies Earth & Environmental Science Biology I also hear it's possible to become a qualified Electronics Engineer at one stage in your career path if you become an Electronics Engineering Technician.

I go to a technical high school and next year I will be taking my certified electronics technician (CET) exam from the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET). What other certifications and skill would look good on a resume for an entry level position in the electronics field with few classes to take? I also can’t go to college now due to money problems.
