General Maintenance Technician Job Questions & Answers

I have opportunities to have two interview from USPS for General Maintenance Positions (PS 5 or 6) and Automotive Technician (PS 7). I try to find out the pay scale, but I can't find any. Does anyone know about the pay? Is it good? Any overtime? I don't mind to work overtime and/or weekend. I have aother job opportunity to work at other state (TX) as a tank mechanic. The pay is good because I get most money by per diem, but it is a temp job, and I have to leave my wife and three young kids in CA. If I choose to work in TX, I have to leave in early May, but the interviews for USPS jobs will be held at May 8 and May 17. If USPS pay good, I will not leave my family (my wife is federal employee, so benefit package is not a factor to make the decision). We have mortgage, two cars loan, student loan ... We want to find a way to earn maximum money. But before I make the decision, I need to know how much USPS would pay for PS 5, 6 and 7. Please help me

I know there are tons of fields that you may consider before you graduate or even before you start college. But what kinds of jobs would just a basic associate's degree get you? And what kind of pay would you be most likely getting?

I'm filling out a birth certificate form and I need help with two questions. Husbands occupation and the industry he works in. He works for a cemetery, digging graves and preforming general grounds maintenance. Considering this is going on our daughter's birth certificate I don't want to put down "grave digger". Also I have no clue what industry he job falls under (death??) So if anyone has a better way to word this would be great! The example they gave me on the sheet: OCCUPATION: Nurse INDUSTRY: Health Care

I've been a commercial pilot for the last two years, but I've come to the realization that I hate this lifestyle and I'm in despirate need of a change. That being said, I still love working at airports and I'm chaning jobs to ramp agent even while I type this. But that job doesn't always pay the best of wages so I'm going to need some real skill in a few years. So I'm considering becomeing an aircraft mechanic. I just don't know how to go about it.

I recently separated from the Air Force where I worked as an avionics technician. I am trying to find a job now in the same field, but the majority of employers require the issuance of a FAA Repairman's Certificate. What is this and HOW do I get one? Thanks, Matt

I have just purchased a new brown soft leather sofa. I know to buy leather cleaners and have had a few good recommendations (Lakeland and John Lewis coming out top), but am looking for advise on what would be a complete home care kit for such a sofa - are there household items that can double up as care items for leather (I know vinegar is great for cleaning shiny surfaces but not leather!)
