I live in San Diego and since I cant go to college (I can go to a trade school MAYBE a Community college but in my current financial situation a 4 year is out of the question). So I have been looking at trade schools. I am looking into Diesel Mechanic, Regular Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Building Maintenance and truck driving. What career would be good? I have an interest in all of them.

I want to make the leap to maintenance management for a different company but dont know how to get there when all the manager jobs I see require previous management experience. Id like to hear from, people who have done so and how they did it?

I am an Industrial Maintenance (Speciality in Electrical work, PLCs, Motor Control and circuits but am well versed in all aspects of Electrical systems). I have a Vocational Diploma and a Certification through NCCER, who also operates in Canada. I was thinking of applying for a Student Visa and going to a trade program over there and after finishing, trying to become a Permanent Resident and eventually a citizen. I live in Buffalo and have many Canadian friends. I go there for weeks at a time and I simply like Canada more than the US. Where do I need to start. I know it matters that I have a clean background and I have no criminal history. The closest thing is a speeding ticket.

I have a two year degree in elctrical and mechanical maintenance. I like my current job a lot, but I'm concerned that over the next few years jobs in this field will become fewer and fewer with the current loss rate of manufacturing jobs . I am very diversified in my skills; mechanics, pnuematics, hydraulics, electrical, machining, PLC's and CNC's. . Is this career going to be worth investing further training in the years to come? Would specialized certifications, such as ISA"s CIMM, IFPS's CFPPM, or electronics training be beneficial or should I just start training in another field? Because I work a rotating shift engineering and engineering technology, although the most likely choices, are out of the question. I have an interest in a computer career, but would this too be a dead end field in the years to come? Thanks in advance for your USEFUL advise and comments.

An overview Im doing a project on an young offenders Academy, which will offer young criminals and those at risk a chance to change their future in a safe and comfortable environment which will help them to get back into education and training, teaching them social and life skills, the aim is to prevent them from re offending by offering them a chance to really get involved with the community, the Academy will be linked to collaborative partnerships with organisations which will sponsor and act as a charity to wards funding the project. Design : (this is where i need your help!) The concept of the design s to create a space which will reflect social behaviours in a civilised manor, i want to create a space which will un consciously manipulate the behaviours of the users to improve their behaviours overall, for instance my question was... what are the factors or metaphorical measures which cause the postcode wars within London? How can i adopt these ideas into a physical space? How can we integrate a way of giving back something to community? for example a kitchen within the Academy which will server food in a Academy restaurant to the community which serves the comment, food being grown in the garden of the facility by the inmates, or maybe to serve food to the poor, Please comment, give your feed back, and opinions. ask me any questions.

Automotive repair is a dream of mine, since I just love working on cars... I've researched online, and from what I've read.... automotive technicians don't make a lot of money, which upsets me a lot. Is there a job where I can work on cars and make good money? Is there a special form of automotive repair that pays really well? 40k + a year? Any suggestions? Plus - How long does it take to become a mechanic? Education required? Please and thank you.
