I have a friend who went on FMLA, she worked in bookkeeping at The Home Depot. When she came back they hired someone for her positoin and offered her a lot attendant job. They said they have to "hold" an equal position and since both positon are in operations that means that a lot job is considered equal. I think that is absurd. In bookkeeping you get to sit and count money in the air conditoining. The lot job you push carts in and load up customers cars. Can someone tell me how this is fair?

In five days I have an interview for a flight attendant jobs, it is open to the public. I'm very nervous, I do want to get this job very much. I do read up a lot and prepare by myself. I do not know anyone in this field. I'm here for 7 years, US citizen, speak-write Hungarian, Romania, speak a little bit Italian. My English is ok. This job is one of my 18 years dream, after I saw an airplane movie with flight attendants, when I was 19. Any advice will be welcome! I appreciate your time on helping me out!

I really want to become a flight attendant. I live in San Francisco. I understand that flight attendant jobs are difficult to get. Any advice would be helpful. I have seen a few flight attendant job finders online that cost money. I am willing to pay if it gets me a job, but don't want to shell out money to a hoax, anyone know how useful these are?

There are thousands of more people out of work because of games not being played - stadium vendors, security staffs, parking lot attendants, maintenance, janitors, etc. If jobs are that important to the economy, shouldn't the Government do something? And Obama is a basketball fan and a gym rat himself, no less.

After just getting off a few flights not that long ago, I've been wondering a lot about flight attendants and what the job includes. Just about every flight before landing, I noticed flight attendants stepping into the bathroom for a short time and walking back out. It was only a few seconds so it wasn't to "go" to the bathroom, what are they doing in there to prepare for landing?

I am about to become a cart pusher (lot attendant) full time for home depot. I was wondering what i need to do to to protect myself in extreme weather to make sure I am feeling good enough to go to work every day. I live in Texas where it can get quite hot, and when it rains, it pores. What do I need to know other than wearing sunscreen? Any good tips if you have, or know someone who has had this kind of job?

Hi, I'd like to know about the flight attendant jobs in australia. Do they pay well? How often do you get to see your family and be back at home? Is it hard? What are the requirements to get into it?

Well, pretty much the question above, I am just going to finish my A levels soon, I live alone right now anyway, I was wonder if over the summer I could get some training and then start working and if it were possible to maintain a flight attendant job whilst I am studying at university. I obviously don't intend to fly international flights just, around Europe.

My husband works at a car dealership as a lot attendant and makes $10.50 an hour which is not bad pay but his insurance is $600 a month for family insurance and I've not been able to find full time work despite applying to over 200 jobs. We need his income to live on. Any tips asking for a raise? He is very dependable, they have fired other people at his place before for showing up to work late, taking very long lunch breaks, borrowing company cars without permission, etc. He has a very good work record and is never (or rarely) late and sometimes even skips his breaks to work harder for the company. Always took all the overtime available way back when it used to be offered but they took that away to save money. Always pitches in to do extra stuff that isn't in his job description. Any suggestions?

I work at Home Depot as a lot attendant of all things...., and the cash register ladies are all up on my a$$ about how I need to check receipts before I load up customers items because some people were leaving with non-paid merchandise. I just don't see how it's my responsibility....Aren't they the ones who do the transactions? What is theft and Loss prevention for? WHo is responsible for this loss?

I recently submitted an application and resume to Continental Airlines for a flight attendant position? Tomorrow[7-22-2011] will be a week. Should I get in contact with them next week to see if they have at least received, ect or should I wait to hear from them? Also, if there is anyone who has worked for Continental, how selective are they in choosing applicants. I actually used to be a Flight Attendant for another major airline.? Thanks!

I am (possibly) going to flight attendant open house tomorrow. I have a letter of recommendation from a pilot I dated who works for the airline. He emailed 4 of the 5 recruiters that will be at the job fair about me. I have NO college degree. My experience is limited to waiting tables (6 years) and being a nurses assistant (2 years). I do NOT speak any other language. I do meet all the basic requirements. When I told I was debating not going, he got mad at me, saying he stuck his neck out for me and the least I could do is go. BUT, I will miss a double shift at work for this. It is an all-day thing. And it is 1.5 hours away. That is a lot to risk for a long-shot. I just feel like the odds of me getting this are not good enough. I never asked him to do any of this for me. I am thankful that he did, but I feel like I cannot compete with people that have college. What do you think? I am 26- years old.
