Maintenance Fitter Job Questions & Answers

I graduated a year ago with a degree in biology (b.s.). I have been trying to find a job ever since. I live in cleveland, oh and the problem I keep running into is that every job is a sales job. I AM NOT A SALESPERSON!!! I am very smart and a job that does not utilize this will be short lived. I need something that allows me to make decisions and does not involve selling. Going back to school is not an option as I need money and WILL NOT move home to live with my parents. So unless it is something that allows me to go to school part time while working full time, it is not an option. I am very open minded, all I really need is decent pay, bennefits, and the ability to think for myself so I dont get bored and quit. I am currently working part time in retail, with little room for advancement as the only real position to move into is store management which is a very competitive sales position. My sales numbers are not good at all. I also work part time teaching at risk 6th graders, but i am not a licensed teacher. I do enjoy the job, but the long hours of a teacher and low pay are most likely not for me. biology is just a degree, a job with biology is not important or really even anything worth considering. Sales jobs are the only real jobs I find available.

I do allot at my night job. I replace all the garbage in the entire store. I bring all the garbage to the dumpster outside and get rid of it along with hundreds of boxes left by the stores night crew. After that I have to clean the bathrooms and fitting rooms. After that I have to run into the parking lot and collect every cart in the entire parking lot. I then have to sweep outside and bring the plants inside. Then I have to bring defected items to the back and put them in crates where they belong. At my morning job it's simple but annoying, you have to walk around with a giant broom and sweep the ile's over and over again for about six hours. I need to figure out how I can get out of these insane jobs? I have a third job in mind its on commision. For my new job I'll be selling verizon fios door to door. I just want advise on a good way to say I quit. The jobs are at pathmart and k mart My name is not lillian it's mike Is it better to be fired or to quit? is selling verizon fios a good job? I live with my mother, father, brother, sister, uncle. I have four dogs,2 birds and many fish. I'm 21, my mother and brother work only one job. I graduated highschool and dropped out of csi college. I have been working these two jobs for over a year. Any phycics outthere if I should quit my jobs?

I am a single mother who works and goes to college and am a first time homeowner. I would like to plant flowers in front of the house, but need something low maintenance, but attractive, to fit my hectic schedule. Any ideas? I live in Western, NY. There is a large tree in the front yard that provides shade for part of the day, but in general, there is full sun coverage.

Hey guys in joining the Marines and am having trouble selecting an mos. My high school specializes in aircraft maintenance and I heard that if we enter the military already having a skill, then we can gain rank faster. I kinda like aircraft maintenance too, but the thing is that I scored a 90 on my asvab. That pretty much opens all the jobs for me and I can't decide if I should go with aircraft maintence or if I should choose a job fit for my asvab. If anyone knows any really interesting jobs please let me know. Also I really don't mind weather I am out at sea or in the states so as long as I don't get an office job.

I'm not in a position to leave my full-time job. My question isn't related to getting clients, a business plan, or start-up capital. I'm not sure how I balance starting and growing this type of business while working full-time. I landscaped for a municipality throughout college. Also, are people open to having landscaping done on weekends? Thank you for you help.

Hey. I have a 1998 Honda Accord. I like to do my own maintenance on my cars but I don't have an oil filter wrench that is small enough to fit Honda's OEM filter (It seems this filter is smaller than others that I've seen on cars). Can someone recommend an oil filter wrench brand or send me a link to an exact tool for the job? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

My Mom rents her home. The cold water feed into the water heater sprung a leak in the copper pipe (the ~2 foot length connected to the unit). The useless moron of a maintenance guy put a bolt-down clamp with rubber on it, but it didn't fix it. So now instead of spraying against the wall, it's running down onto the water heater. Supposing I wanted to fix this, what's the best way? New pipe soldered into place? Some sort of patch?

I am a recent graduate of a tier three school, with a degree in finance. I currently have no experience, so I am basically in the entry level status. Anyways, I would love to pursue an analyst position or possibly get involved with budgeting/forecasting. I guess you could say those are my goals. I still havent truly decided what I want to do. I have interviewed and thought about some possible jobs, I just dont know what is going to get me the experience I need. I dont want dead end experience. Work in Retail Banking - I have purused personal banker positions, but most are telling me to start out as a teller! Work in Mortgage Origination - this is with a bank that specializes in mortgages (Indymac Bank) Offered me a position, but its hourly. Basically im trying to get a job thats not necessarily glamorous paying the big bucks, but instead allows me to develop good work ethic, with the possibility to learn and grown and mold myself into a essential player in society!

I just bought a place with my wife and the caulking job in the bathtub/shower was terribly done. We have scrubbed with AJAX, CLR, and scrubbing bubbles. There is a nasty mildew/mold build up within the caulk and in some areas the caulk is black. Should I replace the caulk, replace the tub and tub liner, or use something like a wire brush - or i'm open to suggestions.

I moved in to a 3 bed property of the councils after waiting 6 months in a emergency accomadation. I collected the keys straight off some one from maintenance department who had been fitting in central heating. No one else came to inspect the house and a old lady had lived there for over 20 years before me which you can tell. Everyroom badly needs decorating, a lot of the walls have holes and cracks in the skirting boards are damaged thes left over screws and nails still sticking out all over the place and any that have been removed have just left a very noticeable hole behind and when you touch it it just crumbles away creating a bigger hole. The interior doors upstairs are all odd with holes and dents in them. I stripped the living room, re-wallpapered it then had to paint it all basically usig up all spare cash I had to make it look liveable. A month later thes damp on my walls now theyve had to put damp proof in destroying all decoration I'd done and now back to square 1.

My education is HS + 2 year associates degree in automotive maintenance from a tech school. I worked as a mechanic for several years and hated it. I was also a computer programmer for 4 years and hated that! I seem to change jobs quite often because they quickly bore me and I get really depressed about life because I can't find anything I like to do! I consider myself to be very intelligent and have good common sense. I need a job that challenges me, but not with tedium (like computer programming). I'm trying to figure out how I can go about finding a job that fits my personality and physical and mental skills. I feel like I'm back in High School trying to pick a college major. I'm 29 now. I made great money as a programmer, but just hated the work (and work environment). What I don't want is cubicles or office politics. I want something where I can be fairly independant and find something interesting about my job that will motivate me every day.
