I am now in public service and served in the military. I have a chance to interview for a job in San Francisco as a customer service manager at an industrial company. My main strengths are writing and I do have people skills and supervised soldiers in a combat zone. However, I know this type of work would be different. If anyone works as a customer service manager, what skills or experiences are helpful to this type of job and do you like it? Is there room for advancement? What types of people are good at this type of job?

I am an unloader at Walmart and I'm interested in this chick that's a CSM(customer service manager). I was wondering if it would be a conflict of interest to persue any kind of dating relationship with her. To my knowledge she has no direct affect over my job/position/pay or any of the sort. I guess you'd only know if you work at walmart; so anyone know?

What is the annual salary of a technical service manager for a onsite computer repair company? What are their responsibilities? It would be great if someone could tell me that actually did this for living or worked in the same field.

How do you find out if the turnover rate is high before you accept the job? Are there any websites out there to tell you? Shift4 has a very high turnover rate. It is due to the way the owners treat their employees and how you can be fired if the Customer Service Manager gets a wild hair up her ass.

I am finishing up my degree in Health Science with a concentration in Health Services Administration. Ideally, I want to get my Masters in Business Administration or go to Law school, but I would like to work a few years to build up some work experience, which looks good for MBA programs. With a Bachelors in Health Service Administration, I know you can work as a Medical Service Manager, which pays well ($80,000-$96,000), but I doubt I would land a job like that right out of college with no experience. What kind of jobs are available for Health Services Administration degrees with no work experience?

I have an interview for a retail department manager job at a Shopko store on Wednesday. It's for the Apparel/Jewelry/Shoes section of the store. Has anyone had an interview for a Department Manager position in a not-quite-big-box retailer? What kind of questions should I be prepared to answer? I'm coming from 5 1/2 years at my local Wal-Mart where I was a Customer Service Manager.

I applied for an assistant manager job and I am very serious about this job. The job description calls for food service experience or the equivalent, I have none of which. However, the job did call for retail experience which I noted I have. I also have a college degree, an awesome reference who could speak very well on my customer service skills. I wrote a cover letter where I showed how flexible I am and how I am willing to work long hours. I highlighted my degree and retail experience and my immediate availability. I pointed out only the positives of why I am the right canidate. How much of an influence do you think having no food/ restaurant experience will hinder my chances? Do you think the positive will outweight the negative? What can I do to show how serious I am without going overboard. I plan to call this company on Tuesday to confirm they recieved my application and resume. What else could I say to gaurentee an interview and hopefully land the job?

I was out having a drink the other night and a guy sitting next to me who was the service manager for a local Honda dealership was talking to a co-worker. He said that when folks bring in their autos for the scheduled service work intervals done at 30 K miles and 60K ($600-$1330 respectively for accords) that the service technicians don't even do 1/3 of the work on the check list. Thinks like lubing CVC joints, flushing transmission etc, usually get signed off, but never done. He chuckled and said there is no way for the customer to know or even prove it. He said they usuallu do the obvious like hook it up to the "scope" and change the oil and filters, top off fluids, but that is about it. If it is not broke, they just sign off on the other stuff and you get screwed! Since they are not actually repairing anything, how do we know? my honda is due for the $1330, any way to avoid getting screwed?

Hello, I am an auto technician who has passed a few ASE certification tests. I need 2 years of work experience to actually get the certificates... but I need them ASAP to apply for another job. I only have 1.5 years of experience. What are the legal consequences of me forging my service managers signature stating that I have 2 years experience? I know its wrong but... I need these certs!!! Thank you!

Examples or sample job descriptions to sort of give me a head start on some of the wording. It is not very likely that I would find the exact jobs I need but - It is a service company with road technicians that go out and repair forklifts. So I need an outline for Service Manager, Parts Coordinator, and Service Technician.
