 | Ok, so i live in the UK and i'm currently in my first year of AS and it's about that time i need to start thinking about my future. First of all, i am unsure of what degree to do. Currently my ideal job would be something that would involve working with animals however i do tend to change my mind a lot. My first question is should i do i general biology degree or something more specific such as zoology?
I have done some research into working with animals but i haven't got very far. I know that these kinds of jobs don't tend to offer very high pay. So i was wondering what the best sort of career would be if i wanted to work with animals and also what sort of career working with animals would give offer a higher salary than the others. Also, what other careers would be available to me with my biology degree that could also be interesting and offer a lot of pay?
TL;DR:
Should I do Biology or zoology?
What hands on careers are there with animals?
What careers with animals get paid a lot?
What other careers are there in biology that are interesting and have high pay?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help :)

 | I've always wanted a job as an animal caretaker/trainer (NOT a vet) such as those seen on shows like "Growing Up" on Animal Planet. However, I've had a hard time finding out any information about this job, such as the official job title, job requirements, average pay, etc. If there is any information people have from experience, or if anyone knows any resources for additional information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! =)

 | I'm mostly interested in mammals. What would the job be if you designed habitats, worked directly with the animals, and created a more safe and natural environment for the animals? Would it be a zoologist, caretaker, what? What would you study in college? What would be a good path to take? Expand. Only guidelines: I want to work with animals preferably in a zoo. Give me options and paths and tips and hints.

 | I want to work with wild animals either in a zoo or in a wildlife sanctuary; I would like to administer their medicine, prepare their diets, and study and observe them. What field would be best for me: veterinary technology or zoology?

 | You see I really love animals, I volunteer at an animal shelter once a week. I love it so much that I want to have a job with animals in the future. But I don't want to become a vet, but I would like to have a job that involves taking care of animals or at least doing something with animals. Could you give me a hand please?

 | I am exremely interested in zoology, but I would like to know if there are any other teaching zoos in the US besides Santa Fe in Florida and Moorpark in California. And has anyone here been to one of these? Or know anybody who has been to one of those? What is your opinion on them?
Thanks!

 | In the future I would like to foster tiger cubs until they are old enough to go to zoos or what-have-you. My best guess is zoos or a wildlife preservation. I would hopefully like to get on the list to do this, but I know that I would need training & permits. (And LOTS of space!) Anyone know where I should start?

 | People always suggest I find another career path since I don't want to be a Vet, which seems like the only career with animals that make "enough money". But I insist that I must have a career with animals, even one that does not make much money.
Wildlife biologist and zoo keeper are my two choices, but both make around 35k, more or less.
How much do animal trainers make, mostly the ones that work with exotic animals?

 | I'm 14. Is that old enough to get volunteer hours for high school at a zoo. I live in LA county in CA. What colleges should I look at? Whatclasses? And I don't really like snakes or spiders all that much. What ate some of the best things I can do. I am a very hard worker and realize that this might not be easy. Will working with a job like this at a reserve be enough to live in CA? If not, what are some other options related with animals ?
