My husband is a supervisor at a local manufacturing facility. HIS supervisor has, on numerous occasions, been verbally abusive towards my husband and the other 3 supervisors at my husband's level during management meetings. The verbal abuse includes yelling, foul language, and threats of termination. None of the abuse is discrimination based towards any of the "protected" classes such as age, race, handicap, etc - nor is it of a sexual nature. So from what I have been told, there is no real legal grounds to stand on against this abusive manager - you can't take legal action against someone for just being a really bad manager and a total jerk. I have suggested to my husband that he file a complaint with the HR department, but he feels that it would be useless, as this particular manager is higher on the "organizational ladder" than the HR staff. Any thoughts or suggestions on how my husband should handle this? Please note that finding another job IS an option, but one that would cut my husband's income by about a third - with a family of six, this is something we can ill afford.

I'm 29 years old sales engineer, married, have 1 kid and resides in the Philippines. My husband is a manufacturing qc supervisor/engineer. My sister is already an Australian citizen and she's planning to bring me, my husband and my kid there. What will we do first? Or what will we process first? How can we apply for a job assessment? Is it okay to use an agent or my sister will just do the processing herself? How much will it cost? Please advise. Thanks and God Bless, Jelma

We are in the manufacturing industry and we're looking to hire somebody to take on some of the responsibilities that I have been doing on a daily basis to unload myself to do other tasks. What title should we give the person who will be doing the following daily tasks: 1. Quoting new and recurring jobs for customers. 2. Processing and tracking orders in ERP system. 3. Working with 1st & 2nd shift supervisors on scheduling and job progress. 4. Frequent communication with customes via email & phone We were thinking something along the lines of a "Customer Relations Coordinator." Any thoughts?

I'm currently in my sophmore year finishing up my associates in business administration, and I was wondering what kind of jobs would I be able to get? I have been doing alot of job searches on the web, to get ideas on job requirements and salaries. I have found several (administrative, insurance, management, entry level accounting/book-keeping, and a few others). I was just wondering if anyone had any more details or specific jobs that would hire. I am probably going to further my education afterwards (i haven't decided on a particular concentration yet, but im leaning towards accounting or management). If anyone could give me some ideas it would be great! ! Thanks!

I'm planning on majoring in chemical engineering in college, and I'm just curious as to what kind of setting chemical engineers work in. I know some work in offices and some in labs (or a combination of the two), but for me, and office setting where I can do calculations and design sounds more preferable. What kind of industry (such as pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and etc.) has chemical engineers primarily in this setting, or does the industry not matter?

I applied for a supervisory position at a manufacturing company. At my previous two employers I worked my self into managerial and supervisory positions and now have 8 years of supervisory experience. I recently earned my Associate of Applied Science degree in Business and Supervisory Management. Today i was notified that I have been chosen as a finalist for the postion with two internal candidates, and we will be interviewing with a panel of supervisors and leads at the company. I have the supervisory experience and the degree that the position discription prefers, but lack the knowledge of the companies industry. How do I highlight my advantages to a group of employees that I hope will soon be my peers? Who are most likely a mixture of employees promoted without supervisory experience and education, and those hired externally. The panel will certainly be familiar with the internal candidates. How do I get them comfortable with me quickly?

I just graduated with a B.S in Accounting in Dec. I am having a difficult time finding a job in the accounting field. I've only received three calls that haven't gotten me anywhere due to my lack of experience. What is the best way to get my foot in the door with no experience? I'm thinking about just looking for something else in the mean time. What other positions can I apply to with this business degree? Thanks.
