Plastic Worker Job Questions & Answers

Have you noticed all the UNION workers or govt workers on our beaches cleaning the oil leak- how they pick up a cup or so of oil put in a plastic baggie and throw in a pile of their mountain of other plastic baggies? Is this the dumbest thing you have ever seen? This is a complete waste of tax dollars - they could have STOPPED THAT OIL from even going on the beaches!!!!! Obama is terrible!!! The worst president ever!!!!

Is the failing of the auto companies due to the economy, or to the fact that, in general, US vehicles tend to be inferior in many ways to their foreign counterparts? Aren't we just delaying the inevitable? We bail them out, and then they just sink again and people all lose their jobs in a few years instead of sooner. Should we make a stipulation that US car manufacturers "must" meet certain goals for mpg, safety, price, durability, etc. so that they can actually compete, rather than again return to this situation?

I had this thought two weeks ago, and I strongly believe a law should be passed that requires that people will be charged for each plastic bag they use. Even further, the optimist hiding inside of me wishes that at least some of this money will go towards cleaning the environment. How practical is that? I heard someone already brought it up--- does anyone know about this? How can this be made legal in the US? and in other countries? What do you think of this idea?

This happened before, but last time I was able to put it back on. Now there is just this plastic looking, hard clear stuff where the mirror used to be attached. I am freaked out it just fell off for no reason. anyone know how to fix it? P.S. To be clear, I am talking about the mirror inside the car, not the side mirrors.

Alright, so I have this job where my main task is to organize papers that people print out in a computer lab. I grab the papers from the printer when they are done and I place them in metal trays so that people can grab their stuff when they are done in an organized fashion. (Don't make fun of me--it's noble work I do). Anyway, this time of year when I put the papers in the trays...I get shocked from the static electricity! Every single time! Any suggestions?

Yes, we still should go on with the solar panels, windmills and natural gas etc. but we will still be using oil and gas in many products like plastic etc.. for hundreds of years. We could be completely independent of the East if we would. Do you think they should drill on our land in Alaska?

I really want a nose piercing, but I'm aware that piercings aren't professional. So if I were to take it out just for an interview, would that decrease my chances of having the career I want? If it makes a difference, I wanna be a social worker of some sort. Thanks.

The blue bags with recyclables is thrown in the same truck as the regular garbage, and then it all gets crushed together. I've watched the garbage truck do this, and I know that the bags split open and burst when they are crushed inside the garbage truck. I've heard the bags popping and the sound of glass being crushed, and I asked our garbageman about it and he said that when they dump their load, everything is just a big stinky, slimy mess, and it's impossible to separate anything. Plus who in their right mind would want that job?

One of the most common reasons why jobs are being outsourced in America is that minimum wage laws unions and collective bargaining is making it to expensive to employ people in America. China does not have any of those laws that protect workers. To all American skilled workers, if you hear that your job is about to be outsourced to China, would you be willing to accept lower wages just so you don't g******d off? Would unions be willing to do the same?

Ok, I know for a fact that I am going to have to take about 3 or so days off because I am going to get laser liposuction on my tummy. I am already a small girl but have a bit of a pooch left over after baby. I know that I will have to go to my supervisor to request time off and she will more than likely ask what type of surgery I am having etc. I have noticed that my supervisor, although a nice woman, has a tendency to chit chat about why workers take off. For example I know when my coworkers decide to take a day off, whether they are sick etc. Any who how should I handle my situation? I am not only worried about my supervisor but I work with ALL women and I know that they are going to ask me the price of my surgery which I feel is rude and a way to get into my personal finances. They have always asked tons of questions about me since I only work part time and dont have a desire to go full time or have 2 part time jobs. My thinking is that they are going to wonder how I am funding the surgery. What is the BEST way to remain professional yet keep my personal life out of everyone's mouth. I dont want to have to lie about having the surgery but I am not discussing the price
