How do you become a shift manager? What are some previous experiences that are recommended or required? Can you move your way up from a cashier to a shift manager? I am talking about places such as in-n-out, chick-fil-a, etc. Thanks!

Hello, I am training to be a shift manager at an Arbys store, and I was wondering if the job is as "horrible" as people say it is, or not. Has anyone, or is anyone a shift manager for an Arbys, or any other fast food place? What should I know about the job?

I have been friends with a girl from work since before I had even gotten hired in. I had gotten the job and was soon promoted to shift manager from being a crew member. now she and I are dating but we leave our personal lives at the door when we come to work and show no favoritism toward each other, in fact, I am even a bit harder on her so I can prove the point that we can keep it professional. My boss disapproves, though... She has threatened both of our jobs if we don't cut out our "fraternization" outside of work. Anyone know about any Anti fraternization laws in Michigan that would make our relationship illegal and terms for termination???

I've applied there and am just wondering about the payscale. My current job pays about the payscale. My current job pays me $12 an hour and i won't be able to take less than that. I have extensive experience as a shift manager at similar companies. I've also applied for a merchandiser position. Is asking for $12 a lot for these positions?

I am going to be a shift manager. My boss thinks I am a good employee and I heard her say she should hire more employees like me. Anyway, when I start as a shift manager I want to continue to show myself to be good, and be the best shift manager she has, so I can potentially become a general manager. Any tips for being a great shift manager so that my boss will be impressed and i could even eventually become a regional general manager

I am applying for a night shift job at a local PetSmart. They are asking me what I think the minimum I should be payed is. I am only 18 and have not had experience at a night job so I don't know how much I should suggest. The work is stocking supplies and all that jazz. I need money to pay my college tuition and I am a night owl so I figured since 3rd shift makes more then normal shifts I'd go for it. Your help is greatly appriciated.

In Oregon, what is the shortest shift a manager can assign to an employee? I only get 3 hour shifts and next week I only work ONE day, which is a total of 3 hours for the week. Sometimes I get sent home early which means that I get less than 3 hours a day. It seems unfair.

I'm a 21-year-old college student and I'm a shift manager at a Subway restaurant. Three high school kids are also employed there. One of them goes to the restroom a lot and talks on her cell phone and she thinks nobody notices. I caught another in a lie the other day and the third one piddles around on the front line when we're extremely busy. I don't gripe at them very much because I afraid they'll get back at me or quit which means I'll have to work more. Also, my boss does not back me when I try to make things better. I would try to find another job but this one is easy and I get off on all the days that I need, which is alot! I can't fire anyone and I absolutely cannot work any extra time since, as a music major, I don't have any!
