 | Hi, I'll be going off to university this year into the college of liberal arts and sciences, and being an event coordinator is something that I have recently become interested in. The job seems really interesting and all, but I don't know what sort of degree to pursue in order to become one. In general, I really don't know how to become one at all, despite looking online for answers. What steps are necessary to take in order to get into a career of being an event coordinator?
Thank you
Yeah so far I've been admitted into my university's psychology program, so that could be of use too, right?

 | I know you can major in a bunch of different things to become an event coordinator...which major would be the best choice?
(i'm not talking about being a wedding planner or owning my own business for planning events)
i would want to be employed at one company and plan events for them...any advice?

 | I'm on my way to becoming a Wedding/Special Events Coordinator. I am currently working in the hospitality industry. I have experience as a chef, as well as an Artistic director and Production manager for a theatrical design company.
I plan on going through a Wedding Coordination Certification training program later this year.
I am just looking for advice or experience from other Wedding/Special Events professionals on how you went about kick-starting your careers.
Advice? Tips? Any mistakes you learned from?
Thanks!

 | I am currently looking for a job in the events planning market in or around NYC. I am graduating in May with a BA in Music, and would love to incorporate that with my talents- planning and leading. I am a person who has innovative ideas and knows how to make them a reality. I am running into a issue with my job search, mostly because I am having a hard time pinpointing exactly the position I am looking for, and what the position is called. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

 | I applied for an events coordinator position with the tourism office in my city and made it to the second round of interviews. I was not offered the position, but that did not turn me off of still wanting to work within the company. They just posted another position that I feel like I would like to do. How should I address the situation in my cover letter. Should I just apply and not make a mention of it or should I address it like I was disappointed but not deterred from seeking a position within the company.

 | I have my associates degree and I will have my bachelors degree in a month. I really want a job as an event coordinator with a nonprofit organization but I havent found any openings. Well, my money has run out. My student loans are starting to creep up on me. I would like to work somewhere that does not include working with the public nor sitting in an office chair all day. What kinds of places should I apply to?
