Fashion Marketing Job Questions & Answers

I've worked as a Fashion Executive in a hotel selling conference rooms and rooms for parties for two years. I've done a fashion marketing short course plus a fashion journalism course online. Now if I were to apply for fashion marketing jobs, do you think it's likely that I'd get the job? knowing I haven't had any experience working in the fashion industry.

I have recently been accepted into FIDM (fashion institute of merchandise marketing) I am planning on fulfilling the 4 year program here.. Meaning I will graduate after the first two years with a major in merchandise marketing and then two years later with a major in business management. Fashion is what I have always been passionate about but I know that the fashion industry can be hard to do well in. What I basically want to know is if later in life I am struggling to find a job related to fashion marketing will I still be able to find a job more so just related to marketing in general?

I was looking to go to graduate school for fashion in London, I found two progams I was intrested in. I have an intrest in the fashion industry mostly inttrested in buying allocations. My first degree is in Sociology so for me to get my Masters I want to be able to easily find a job. Dream jobs would be (TOPSHOP, New Look, Vivian Westwood, Harvey Nichols). The 2 programs I found are MA Fashion Business and a MA fashion Marketing.

I am looking for some information from people who have experience in this course or similar courses. I am thinking of changin from a nursing degree course to fashion marketing as i feel as though I am much more passionate about fashion, and will be more willing to work hard at a something I genuinely love. I am however concerned that there are little jobs in this line of work. I have an idea of what sort of job I could get with this degree but would like to hear from someone in the field who can tell me what the jobs entail. I would also like to know if there is opportunity to travel in this line of work? I am studying in scotland. Thank you for any advice.

I just applied for Fashion Marketing (associates degree) at the Art Institute of Charlotte, and I would like to know other's personal views for the same field at that school. If you didn't take it at AIC, and took fashion marketing somewhere else, then that's fine too. Did you like it? Were you able to find a good job/career in that field? Was the school helpful? What tips/advice can you give me? Anything else you would like to share, please do. I really appreciate the feedback!

It's my senior year in high school and I'm ready to begin looking into colleges but I'm not sure where to start. I've done alot of research about what courses I need and what's come up the most is fashion merchandising, fashion marketing, journalism, and grapic design. Which one of these degrees would help me the most in landing a job with a magazine?

I would like a career in fashion, preferably in the journalism, media or PR realms. I have been offered a place at uni to study Fashion Marketing, however I don't think I want to go to uni at all as I don't really want to spend any more time in eduction, I'd like to actually work. The only issue is I don't know if I could get a good job in the fashion industry without a degree. I understand that experience is very difficult to obtain, but if I strived to get as much as possible, could I get a job as good as one I could get with a degree? Any advice at all would be much appreciated! Thanks a lot!

I will be studying fashion marketing soon when i start college. But after my four years, i will only have a BA, which is an undergrad. When i graduate and get a job, what would companies in the fashion industry look for? higher education or more work experience? Do you think it would be necessary for me to study four years and then another two years of master degree? If i do this, will i have time to intern?

I'm working on my associates now for Marketing and Management (well actually it's Fashion Marketing and Management but we've recently been told that the school is changing it to straight marketing managment to give us more job options) Any way...I plan to get my associates and transfer to a 4 year BUT an issue i'm having is I think I may want to change majors when I get to the 4 year. I think that i may want to go into teaching but I love my school now and don't want to leave it to find a school that offers associates for that area. My question- will i be able to take up teaching with an associates in Marketing Managment? I've been told that if i have an AS it doesn't matter what it was in, as long as I have one I can take up anything. I can change my major now, but the only other major that would remotly apply would be general Business and I don't think that would help me at all in the teaching field. Help!

I have a Fashion Marketing degree that I have never been able to do much with. I worked in retail for years and I didn't like that. I tried to find jobs in Visual Merchandising and that didn't work either. I can draw. I am artistic. Any ideas? I guess there are too many starving artists in the world. I have been working in an office for 4 years now. I am thinking about going back to school. What would I major in. I don't want another degree that I wasted money on.
