My manager has gone from Marketing Manager to Vice President of Marketing and now she's taking on Sales opportunities. She dumps a lot of the work on her team which is me and a few other people. I've been Marketing Associate for the last 5 years taking on all the projects that come in by myself ever since the VP of Marketing decided to start selling. She keeps getting promoted and I keep staying in the same place. What am I doing wrong?

I am currently working as a temp to perm "Marketing Specialist" for a $50 million supply chain management company with just over 70 employees. What I make right now is irrelevant to me, since it is the staffing firm who is paying me until the 4 month probationary period is over, then the company will hire me full time. The Vice President told me that after the 4 month period ends, they will hire me and restructure my salary based on competitive industry data. I have gone through the detailed question and answer applications on PayScale.com and Salary.com, and also researched the positions on Glassdoor.com. Vault.com, and random online websites, which all come up with a salary of $52,251 (with an overall range of $34,021 to $68,264) based on the job, my responsibilities and skills. I manage the marketing communications, strategy, and project management for all marketing initiatives for the company. I am also going to be establishing Media Relations, University Relations, and Community Relations divisions within the company, and expand them. Also, I have a Master's degree, and roughly 6.5 years in marketing, social media, project management, and strategic decision making experience. Based on this, do you think that $52,251 is an accurate amount (or too high or low?), and do you think that the range of $34,021 - $68,264 is also accurate (or too high or low?)' Thanks.

I'm dealing with a recruiter for a MLM (multi-level marketing) company that I'm not interested in. I want to tell them I'm not interested but I'm looking for a site that has questions that they're going to ask me and responses to those questions. My main reasons for not going into this: 1. I have a good job and am able to support a family of 8 on my income alone. 2. I don't believe that anyone can make money but sitting around their house all day long as your Region Vice President claims. 3. Why do none of your people seem to have a college, much less high-school, education? 4. Why do you seem more interested in recruiting people than selling a product? I would like to know how they're likely to reply to those questions and how I should counter. I can just say, "No, I'm not interested and keep saying it until they give up, but I want to give a good reason too."

Cheap Far-East particularly Chinese products impact on other countries industries. So there is a considerable lost market share for internal industries in affected countries through the imported products. The manufacturers' strategies and planes have changed to compete with such product and compensate their lost market share.

I'm out of HS & have never had a job. Parents wouldn't let me they wanted me to focus on my studies. Now I need a job to pay for a college degree & to help my parents out. I've already applied on 2 retail stores but have had no luck. Are new retail store openings a good way of getting a job? I really don't care where or the wages. Thanks

I am graduating this May with Bachelor's in Education and I am applying to teach math in high school. In college, I am the vice-president of the LGBT society. I am also a volunteer in an organization in our city where we help LGBT teens who are in trouble. I am an active member of these organizations and it means a lot to me. I am gay by the way but I don't act feminine. I don't welcome close-minded answers here.

If libertarianism were enacted, corporations would be subject to free market forces and would compete for the satisfaction of the consumer. In other words, corporations would have to make consumers happy in order to survive financially. Therefore, corporations wouldn't do anything to hurt consumers, like pollute the air or make products that are harmful to consumers, because, otherwise, no one would buy their products and they would go out of business. So, how would libertarianism lead to this catastrophe of corporations running rampant?

I read that the Govt just had a lottery for 85K visas to fill job vacancies. All positions required advanced degrees. The corporations are saying they need these positions filled and they can`t find enough talented (intelligent) americans. Some advocacy groups are saying they don`t want to pay the american wage. So which is it? How can we as Americans stop this practice? Is it really beneficial to stop this? Why?

I guess a lot depends on what type of job you are looking for. I am an entrepreneurial minded person with solid technical AND business skills and 15 years of experience. I am just tired of trying to make small innovative companies to be successful (ultimately run out of resources). Would Monster be the right place for me to look for a job? Or, are there any other/better sites? How do you people put up with Monster's constant advertisments?
