How to work well as the product marketing manager at a ERP software company? For example, the revenue forecast is the big headache.please give me some clues,or some weblinks.thank you very much
I am currently a marketing manager trying to figure out the next step in my career. I have had a lot of experience in marketing communications type activities: creating collateral, press releases, managing trade shows, and promotions. I am wondering what experience I may lack on the quantitative side: managing P&L, managing product lifecycle, product mix, etc. If I am more interested in the creative side of marketing, should I stay in MarCom? Or do Brand Managers deal with both? Is there less growth potential in MarCom - job ads make it seem like an entry level profession making only around $35K.
Would you say being a marketing manager is a hard job? Is it stressful?.. do you need to be quick and organized? what possible companies can you work for?..do you work independantly?..is it all year around?
The marketing manager isn't doing the selling alone- with him is a sales rep and a sales manager and the 3 of us share of goal that this industrial machinery company (the people who would show include the buyer, jr engineer and production manager) will buy our software. So what does marketing manager do specifically in this kind of situation?
Thanks a million!

I need to write sample documents of this career and was wondering what type of documents marketing directors/managers have to write during their job? I'm in a college English class so any type of writing will do (Emails, Proposals, Etc). I am specifically looking for the types of writing done by marketing directors/managers in the nightlife and entertainment industry (nightclubs/restaurants in bigger cities)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I love working with people and I think that becoming a marketing manager would be great for me.
What should I major in, the best school for the job, and how I can expose myself to the business.
I'm a junior in high school.
I joined this company (sales and marketing department in a electronics factory) as Sales and Marketing department manager. Since this is my first job to be a department manager and I didn't study business management (I was major in liberal arts), I worked very hard. However, I don't know how I can make my staff respect me from their hearts and work their best in their job so that the whole department can show obvious improvement. Today, 2 staff had big argument in front of me and I yelled at both of them to stop arguing in public and if they want to argue, please go to a conference room. I think I made a bad judgement by yelling at them like that. Also, Do you think they do not respect me? Please help!
I am an IT product manager (meaning marketing, some logistics and product development) from Singapore and would be moving to Perth soon. How best can I look for a similar job in Perth? Is it possible to do it while I am in Singapore?
I am desperately seeking a new career and after completing a marketing certificate at The Wharton School, I would really like to pursue something in the marketing field. My experience has been in higher education administration, working with students, and planning events for both students and alumni. I'm looking for advice on how to best market my skills, abilities and enthusiasm to try and break into the marketing world.
Average salary? How can you get to that position after college, what jobs does one need to go through to get up to that point? If you are one, do you enjoy it?

I just started a job at a big company as their marketing co-ordinator and I do some web dev & design too (as I fortunately have some additional skills). However I feel useless every time a magazine rings me or our when our bi-monthly campaigns are due, because I have to keep asking "What should we advertise in this magazine?, What should we promote in this campaign?, What should we write?
I've only been here for 6 months and still learning but Im wondering if it's normal for all marketing new-comer to be like this (since they don't fully know all the services/product).
He once said he'd like to eventually promote me to marketing manager but im hopeless (at the moment) in doing anything but co-ordinate and design whatever they 'say' or 'write down'.
I have a interview Friday for a Assistant Marketing Manager Position. I have a BFA in fashion with 4 yrs of design and 1 yr of Brand Management. I am a specialist in Intimate Apparel because that has been my focus for the past 5 yrs.
I am going up against Business students who have the business skills that I do not. One thing I do have is more work experience, and a strong knowledge of the product while most business students have no idea of the process of fashion.
I am flying out for the interview so thats a good sign I was told but I want to ace this interview but also feel confident that this is a job I can perform. By the way I am very resourceful. I am very good at finding the answer.
How can I stand out?
