 | Im considering these as majors to pair with journalism! Whats the difference between public relations and events management? If i choose public relations would i be an eligible employee for an event management job, and vice versa? Which is more broad and better? Thank you!

 | I would like to go into the field of Public Relations/Image Management. I believe this would be the beset major choice because I want to pursue a career as a PR Manager, Marketing Manager, or Advertising Manager. I live in NJ so I would love to work in NYC therefore staying on the east coast is a must. It would be the best if you guys could recommend good schools in NJ and NY. Also should I look into other majors for these careers? What other job opportunities can I expect from a PR degree?

 | I'm in school right now doing my first year of hospitality management then transfering to a different school to finish my degree. Anyways I'm wondering if it is possible to go into public relations? And if so how, and is this a common route? I've tired looking it up on the internet and am going crazy trying to find out the answers I need. I really can't afford to start another degree because I have already wasted a year doing a Arts degree. Anyways if anyone knows that would be amazing thanks.

 | I have a BA in anthropology and biology.
What do you think is more marketable for a better job?
A graduate diploma in public relations management from McGill university.
Or a graduate certificate of business administration from Concordia university.
Or a diploma of public relations from Concordia university?
What sort of employment opportunities should I expect from each? What sort of work/salary?

 | I am a recent grad with a Bachelors in Communications. I am considering an MBA or a Masters in Management because they have been recommended to me by people I know professionally. Really what I want to do is get into public relations. I guess what it comes down to is I would like to find a good paying job (who doesn't?!) and enjoy what I'm doing. Is there a different direction I should be heading for my Masters? Thanks!

 | Am currently transferring as a Journalism major with an emphasis in public relations and am thinking about advancing with the corporation of Costco. I feel that it would probably be a good idea to also double major in Management as well. The two majors seem to be the perfect pairing. I will have to also complete additional lower division for the management major, but I feel that in the end it will be worth the extra time. Should I just minor in management instead? What are all your thoughts?

 | I am currently in law school and had an epiphany that I want to pursue a career in public relations. I don't have any experience in PR, but I know that is the industry I want to be in when I graduate. What kind of job could I get in this field while still using my law degree? I am most interested in crisis management. What should I be doing to break into this industry? Fyi..I am in NY

 | I know this is not the place to ask, but I am curious as to if anyone has any suggestions of universities to look towards in the US for a masters in public relations. If not I just completed an undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics and Sport Management, and am wondering which direction to head in next.

 | The course list for a 'Bachelor of Social Science' is really interesting to me. The university states that completion of this course could secure existing graduate opportunities in the following areas:
# Major consultancies and social research
# Public relations, communication and media work
# Social and public policy development
# Policy analysis and evaluation
# Project planning and/or administration for a range of organizations
# Health care management and policy
# Local and international community development
# Health promotion
# Social planning and social impact assessment
# Campaign direction
# Events management
Are there specific job titles for these? Like, if someone asks what you want to do after university and you want to go into social research and policy development. I'm sorry if this question doesn't make sense.
Aw. Well, that's sort of crushing. I could pair it with a Bachelor of Arts and major in Japanese (?) or something else that may lead to more options.

 | Can someone who has majored in Business Administration and minor in Human Resources Management take up other business jobs such as marketing, public relations representative, etc...?
Would that person be able to do pretty much anything related to Business since they majored in Business Administration?
Do jobs really care about what a person may have minored in or does it depends?
I am a senior in high school and was just thinking about this.
Thanks for your answers they are GREATLY appreciated:)

 | I am 43 years old and a former award-winning Canadian journalist. My strengths lie in the area of media relations, government relations, aboriginal relations and issues management.
I am a seasoned communicator, creative, educated and worldly. I have worked across North America, including the Arctic, Ottawa and Washington. I have also worked in South America and the U.K.
With my background and skill set, I believe I am well suited for just about any position in corporate communications and public affairs. As an “out-of-the-box” team leader, I have a reputation for getting the job done.
In addition to be an excellent communicator, I am a strategist, a facilitator, an ideas person, a role model, hard working, loyal and ethical. I am looking to work for a company that shares the same values and principles as I do – honesty, success and reward.
If you know of a job that would match my skills, I would be happy to hear from you

 | I am moving to melbourne on a work holiday visa. I have a year but I would ideally want to get a job in marketing/public relations/promotion event planning. Are these kind of jobs available? If so what are the biggest names out there in terms of firms/companies. Also, I am well aware that I might have to perhaps apply as an intern and work for free for the experience, and then get a part time job to support myself. Does this sound realistic?

I am majoring in Graphic Design and I have been planning on minoring in Advertising/Public Relations and Business Management. However, recently I've heard of doing a double major in Graphic Design and Advertising/Public Relations. Which option looks best for future jobs?
