I have been the VP of marketing for 10 years at a six figure salary. Most job postings and job sites out there only list entry level or little experience jobs that pay under $50,000. There is no way to search for higher level jobs. How can I find such jobs?

My manager has gone from Marketing Manager to Vice President of Marketing and now she's taking on Sales opportunities. She dumps a lot of the work on her team which is me and a few other people. I've been Marketing Associate for the last 5 years taking on all the projects that come in by myself ever since the VP of Marketing decided to start selling. She keeps getting promoted and I keep staying in the same place. What am I doing wrong?

I have heard talk that my company is creating a new position for Sub-contracting. I have ideas that I want to present to the Sr. VP but I have a director above me and a VP above him. This position is in another area. Should I run my ideas by my boss and his boss even though they will not be responsible for this new position or do I by-pass them? Any thought on this?

I'm looking at different schooling options and I am more of an artistic person. Marketing seems like the most viable business related job for me but is it extremely difficult to find a job in the industry? Also, is the wage decent enough to make a living?

This is from todays WSJ. >>>Let’s see if we get this straight: The crisis erupted in unregulated markets, the ones with all that innovation. Regulated markets, with more transparency and limits on the leverage market participants can use, have held up while unregulated ones crumbled. Therefore, the solution is to reduce regulation of regulated markets, while doing nothing to restrain the unregulated ones.<<< "Does the building have to fall on somebody?" Of course the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) is the media of record the Republican Socialist Party now in power.

I am in high school and want to go to college for marketing. I have taking courses in marketing, advertising, business/marketing math, business management/leadership, and design so I have a pretty good idea that I want to go somewhere in marketing or advertising, but what are some examples of jobs I could do with a four-year degree in marketing? Or a master's? Thanks for your time!

I have been out of the job search market for quite someone. In fact, I have been at my most recent position nearly six years. Recently got a job offer and they are just going to do the background check. I am just curious what this covers. I am a legit person, education and job history – all honest and correct, no criminal record, no history of civil suits but I have less than perfect credit. Do you think that less than perfect credit disqualifies you for a job?

Monster, Career Builder and the like seem only good for junior or mid level positions. My specialty is actually pricing strategy, but a broader search area I use is market strategy, or market analytics. Looking for an effective site (Ladders, or ExecU Net type) that focuses on Senior Director or VP level positions.

I'm a high school junior and I am interested in the marketing field. I've done research and it seems very interesting to me. I just needs hands on experience so I'm thinking of doing an internship during my senior year of high school. My question is, why do people look down on this field? They say how Marketing is a joke and you should rather major in accounting or finance or something "useful", and they kind of look at it as a joke. But when I look at the average salary online I see that it isn't that bad and VP and managers of marketing or PR firms actually make good money. Is it because it is hard to get a job? Would internships and experience make it easier to find jobs? I'm thinking of majoring in Marketing and Communications to work for a PR or Marketing firm. Any suggestions/advice/answers? Thanks!
