To be clear: I'm familiar with very basic HTML and how to use blogging platforms like Wordpress. I'm looking for examples of jobs where you work for a company (not self employed or free lancing) that revolve around SEO and web marketing. NOT article writing or micro site blogging. All suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

For those in the field, how is the job market for Web Developers? How has the recession affected the industry, and how will outsourcing affect the future? I've been self-educating on .Net (C# + VB) via video tutorials and I think it's something I can be great at. It's definitely something I'm interested in. I'd like to get into the field but I'm deeply worried about the stability of IT jobs.

I'm pretty well versed in Javascript and Ajax, and I'm working on my SQL and PHP, but I'm also curious about Coldfusion, ASP, etc. What are some good technologies I should start working on to help my career?
