Same type of position but the package handler may sort the packages but not load the trucks.

You'll stand in a hot trailer, boxes will come down a chute into your trailer, and you will verify the zip code is correct and stack them into the trailer. This seems to be the most common entry level position for fedex/ups. It pays better than retail but be prepared to work hard and fast.

I want to start as a package handler but would like to know if it can later turn into a fulltime driver position and how long might it take?

Hello, has anybody out there worked the UPS package handler job? Seems like there a lot of questions on here, so I'm sure there are people that could answer. Just curious if the job is easy or hard. No problems with the physical aspect, lifting, sweating, its all good. Just how I would go about starting the job, I.E. picking up the swing of things, where I'm likely to be placed at first, if that part is easy or not? Are you likely to be placed in one area or do you move around a lot? The shift is early sunrise 3-8 am. I applied and I was surprised that you could choose for an interview right away, which is tommorow. I have read you go on some type of tour, as well as the interview? Is this correct? Any description of this job and the interview process would be much appreciated.
