I just got hired for a part time sales job at home depot. I've never had a job without wearing a suit or just my normal casual clothes. I'm in college and I'm in my early 20s. What should I wear for my orientation tomorrow? A nice dress shirt and khakis? I hope to get some opinions soon so I have time to go to Ross. Polo shirt and khakis?

I've excelled at every sales job I've had, and at my latest job I was promoted to manager and took a failing store to win top in the state. I have excellent references, interview skills, etc.. The hard part: My degree is in accounting, and it seems like most of the jobs I reply to, or that reply to me are junk sales jobs.

I have had several sales jobs and want to do marketing outside of sales. I have recently relocated to the Northeast, all Marketing posting want experience in analysis. All of my sales experience leads me to another sales position and I am tired of straight sales. Is there a better way to get into a marketing position with a bigger firm?

I called a local retail store about a part-time sales associate job and they said they need someone for a part-time keyholder position. The only retail experience I have is a few months, which was volunteer work/community service a few years ago. I told this to the women on the phone and she said to come up and apply for it anyways and get an interview. I thought these positions were for experience people in retail? What are my chances getting the job?

I am planning to pursue my Masters in Business Management in Brisbane. I serached for local part time call center and sales jobs as i have about 2-3 years of work experience in Advertising sales and Recruitmrnt Cosulting. And i found most of the employers preferring OR encouraging the candidates with a Job Network Card. Will this be issued to a Student Visa holder and how to get this? Is it hard to get one?

Been a stay at mom, I have not worked outside of the home for many years and now would like to go back to being independent. I have been looking for part-time work for almost a year in accounting, to general office work etc. I currently have a choice to accept a part time sales job at a retail store working mornings and evenings. As an anxious mother to a four year old boy, how can I ensure his safety and happiness while in the care of a father who has little patience and creative when it comes to child rearing? This is the same father who chose to carry our then 15-month old baby on a skateboard going downhill in the middle of the road. He has apologised and said it won't be repeated. He tends to not think for our children's welfare first, aside from little patience, he allows them to eat junk food, sleep way past their bedtime on a school night, watch tv for long periods, feeds them late, etc. Our 4 yr old is quite a challenge, he can try your patience but I've learned to be creative in distracting him so it's been smoother with me than with his dad. In his dad's care and this is when I'm in just another part of the house, I hear him cry more often, he gets yelled at or smacked in his behind often. Need your suggestions please.

I'm applying to work at various department stores this summer -- I figure, why not, I'll probably get a discount on clothes -- but I have no idea how much to ask for. I don't want to ask for something insane, but I don't want to ask for too much because I'd like to get hired! I made $7/hr at my last job, which was like four years ago now. For the record, it's a part-time sales associate job at Carson Pirie Scott. Thanks!

Last summer I got my degree in product design. It's almost a year and i've not found a relevant job, and only managed to get 1 interview in which I narrowly missed out on the job. I took a part time sales assistant job in a town 50 miles away from home. I'm out of pocket and I spend all my wages on travel, but i'm only doing it to keep my CV updated and to get myself out of the house. My family support me with funds as they know how tough it is for young people at the moment. I feel like I have nowhere to go anymore, and I don't know where i'm going in life. I'm confused, disheartened and depressed. I don't mind changing my career path, but what would I do realistically? My family are willing to support me financially if I want to start my own business, but that all seems daunting. I'm a hard working and committed young graduate with the desire to succeed and support myself in life. I have a professional CV with voluntary work experience, but everything seems so distant and I really need some advice.

I got suspended for 2 weeks from my part time sales rep job because i wasn't able to make it to work on Christmas eve due to stomach flu, They told me without a doctors note i wouldn't be able to go back I don't have insurance and i cant afford to go to a hospital and spend $50 just for a doctors note. It's completely unfair I always cover people, I always go wherever them need me, I've never gotten a warning in the year & 5 months I've been there. Instead of giving me a warning how they should of they suspended me for two weeks! Is there any legal matter i can take??

I applied to a pharmaceutical sales position with Merck and was asked to come in for an interview. However, they are only interested in hiring me for a "part time/job share" opportunity, 45 minutes away from where I live. What exactly is a job share? Hours? Are benefits a lot different from full-time benefits? Normally a company car is provided with full-time pharma sales jobs, which would be the only way I would accept a position 45 minutes away. Anyone able to shed a little light on this subject for me? Thanks in advance!
