Need a catchy listing I can put in the newspaper, as a personal assistant/driver. Basically, taking clients to and from dr appointments, hair appointments, grocery store, pick the kids up from school, take kids to practices/baseball/soccer. Pick up and drop off clothes to dry cleaner.Basically anything that an extremely busy person would need help with.
Can a student driver transport minors(younger than 18 years old) sitting in the back IF there is a licensed adult sitting in the passenger seat? Thank you.
I have worked on farms, worked bars, call centers, motels etc...
How many of you have worked jobs that pro-illegals claim Americans won't do?
I have been on here for years and one thing I have read is that most anti-illegals are the ones who have done manual labor while you never read pro-illegals doing any manual labor, is this a reason why they are pro-illegal? Are these the lazy Americans we keep hearing them talk about?
Americans love their cars, but the supply of oil is limited and will become increasingly expensive. The current patterns of transport and settlement cannot be sustained for more than a few decades. The domestic auto makers Ford, GM and Chrysler are faltering already. Should governments shift infrastructure investments to new modes of transport before the oil runs out?. Note that roads are a public subsidy to the auto industry. (A subsidy to domestic manufactures might be justified, but a subsidy to foreign manufactures is questionable.) Would investment in rail, for example, be a better long term investment of public funds? What will happen to suburban real estate as transport costs escalate?
rby9 good points about alternate energy and the relationship of population density to practicality of mass transit.
Warren, I considered the idea of a highway with energy beamed to vehicles with microwaves. The electricity could be supplied by wind/solar facilitues beside the highway, and there is sufficient energy for light to moderate traffic. The problem is that the required power density would not be healthy for the car's occupants. I am a PhD physicist with several patents and that problem is one that I would like to solve too.
Carl, interesting perspectives about traffic in a large city. I was not aware that cities were spread as a matter of policy to reduce vulnerablity to nuclear attack. Perhaps that is a good policy even after the cold war, but there are associated costs.
They want a 'mature' driver to transport high value computers from Ireland to the UK.
One company offers the trailer for the transport and subcontracts another company for the tractor unit and driver to do the job with its trailer. Who is liable for damaged/ stollen goods?
I am a professional company truck driver for over 10 years now running the US West Coast. I want to know what other small business people think if I should have my own truck, given the economy on a recovery now. Any suggestions please ? Thanks in advance for your time and thought.
What's your experience of transport in the UK today?
The Department for Transport is only meeting two out of seven targets, according to the House of Commons Transport Committee.
Missed targets include those for congestion, air quality, and introducing concessionary bus fares, but road safety and rail punctuality aims had been met.
What are your biggest concerns about transport in the UK? What are your suggestions for improving the system?
My mom said that there is a law that a students in school can't work at a job for more than 4 hours! Is it true? Yes or no! I am homeschooled and geting very board I want to work more than 4 hours a day! I'm at work from 8 am-12 noon and want to work till 4 pm! I love my job and homeschooling doesn't start till 4 pm anyway! If it is against the law it's really dumb because I get A+ on every thing!
I am applying for a job that would require me to transport people in my personal vehicle to go to the store, doctors appointment, etc. How does this normally work? What type of auto insurance would I need?
I am 17 and I want a job that involves driving a vehicle. What job can I get where I can do this. Thanks!
I have the odd baby sitting and pet sitting job, but it's not very common, so I want a normal job. The only problem, is that I live in a tiny town. Seriously, the nearest walmart is about 20 miles away, and the only other store is Maurice's, also 20 miles away. I think I could get a job at our local coffee shop, or the library, but I'm not sure. Baby-sitting isn't very good pay, and I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?
I have no job, no degree, no home, no car, and I'm banned from public transit for at least 3 months. How can I support myself?
It's already documented how he schemed to give a $35 billion contract to foreigners and how he's a liar claiming Americans won't do jobs illegals do, but I figure that's doesn't give McCain enough credit for how he wants to continue the Republican raping of America.
I have a US CDL (land transport, GVW +26,000lb), a recent, 2007, 50 ton marine Captain's license, and a Private Aircraft certificate. I fly a Cessna 150.
I am unemployed and looking for some sort of transportation pilot/driver vocation.
Will any of these qualifications help me secure a job as a Engineer (pilot/driver) of a locomotive? What other studies should I pursue? How whould I apply?
I am a 23 y/o male and I am wanting to get into the trucking industry. What is the process. I know I have to receive my CDL from the state I live in (Alabama) but what is the process of training and what is a good way to get in with a company since I have zero experience? What is the industry norm of a company paying for training? Also what seems to be the going average rate for a beginner driver? Thanks for your help.
I swear I remember reading somewhere that its different for different jobs. Can someone tell me what the ages are and the punishments for breaking this law? The first person to tell me exactly what I want will receive the best answer points.
Joy, I'm sorry, but i know for a fact that it isn't 18 everywhere. An example for a answer I'm looking for is...Architecture : 18...Government:21...Food/Restaursnt etc.:14.
My fiance got his c.d.l by practicing with a friends truck and now he wants to get a truck driving job but all the job postings say 2 years experience. I was just wondering what he should do to get someone to give him a chance or to get more driving experience. His friend with the truck moved so he can't help.
