Well soon at my school, there is this thing called 'job shadowing' and I want to be a child psychologist when I grow up so I was going to write that down as my number one choice. But you have to choose a few and I don't really know what else I want to be! Would guidance counselor be okay or are they too close?

I want to be a child psychologist. I would love to go to a traditional school but I need to work full time. I was looking into online schools but I don't want to get my degree and I don't get a job because I went to school online. Is there anyone who went to an online school and receive and job as a psychologist or are there any suggestions you may have? Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking of changing my major to child psychology. I also prefer the academic setting and I feel I'd be most effective with middle schoolers. I interviewed a school psychologist at a middle school and she said she sees a few children and most of her work are writing up evaluations. She would work with special needs children or mental breakdowns while a school counselor focuses on social/behavior and sees more children than the psychologist does... which is probably better for my current skills. Can a child psychologist normally take this role as a school counselor, or are schools known to hire child clinical/counselor psychologists?

I am iffy on what degree I should pursue in, in college. I love working with small children and I love to draw and paint and anything crafty. I thought about being a preschool teacher but they don't make enough, and a child psychologist, but that requires to much school. I also thought of working for Disney but that's like a 1 in a million chance. Is there some other job out there that requires working with children, art, and getting paid a decent salary?

I am majoring in psychology, specificly child/adolescent psychology, I want to work with kids and teens, and the only two positions that I could think of is a school counselor and a social worker. Going to school to be a child psychologist is not one of my options right now, so PLEASE do NOT suggest that either. Thanks.

I plan on being a psychologist but I heard that you should attend graduate school in order to get a better advantage in getting a job. I'm interested in being a therapist or a child psychologist or even working in a hospital. But if I were going to attend graduate school, how many years for each of the above professions would I need to take, and would it be very difficult to go through graduate school?
