As a newly ordained minister my brother is trying to meet the needs of couples who may have difficulty finding clergy to officiate their wedding ceremoney. He has a non denominational christian prison ministry but would like to also make himself available to interfaith couples, military couples and couples where one partner may be incarcerated but wishes to make vows while in jail or prison. During his prison ministry he met an inmate whose fiancee was pregnant and wished to be married but the couple was unable to find a clergy to officiate the wedding. Can anyone suggest a way for a minister to make his services available to couples who may be having difficulties finding clergy due to extenuating circumstances? Thank you for your assistance.

I certainly don't agree with everything my ministers have said, and sometimes cringe in the seats at the stupid things being said from the pulpit (that's at Baptist, Unitarian, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Methodist and Lutheran churches so far). I continue going to church because I feel it's the right thing to do, and I don't expect my ministers to be more perfect than anybody else. I don't hold Obama accountable for everything his minister says. That church may accomplish good things for the black community we know nothing about. Give them a break!

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that she wishes the media would ignore the Minister in Gainesville FL when he tries to burn the Korans. She said he has a small congregation of 50 people and the media flocking there gives him a credibility he doesn't deserve. Do you agree with her that the media stirs up these situations or do they have an obligation to cover these types of events?

My job duties have changed tremendously in the last few weeks. I now have much more responsibility and I have the chance to use my technical skills. My supervisor and the company president met with me and said we need to change my job description. However the company I work for is owned by a parent company which must approve the change. How long does this typically take? And how long should I wait? I am beginning to feel used. My supervisor has not even started the paperwork.

I am female and have been thinking about attending Bible college and getting a degree in either theology or youth ministry instead of attending a public university for something else. The only thing that is holding me back from following this calling is that I'm afraid that there will not be quite a wide variety of jobs I can find within the church, one reason being that I'm a girl and some churches don't allow these positions to be filled by women. What kind of job opportunities can I expect working in a church if I go in this direction?
