Personal Appearance Job Questions & Answers

I am filling in a job application form and do not understand what I could write under this section apart from that I have a good standard of personal appearance and would wear the uniform they provided, as required. They would like to know some skills/qualifications/experiences of this. Any ideas?

I have retired from my former job and now I don't know what to do with myself. Because of a little, so-called "alcohol problem", I've lost my ability to make personal appearances at the larger comic conventions (one tiny little episode of public indecency - people can be so judgemental!). What's a washed up former super-hero to do? Sorry, that's comic BOOK conventions! I've never been a stand-up comic. Hmm..

I'm looking to get a job at Hollister because I like the clothing and I could really use the employee discount there. I'm a good looking 18 year old guy, but I'm Indian. Tons of people have told me that its tough to get a job at Hollister if your not white? I saw on the site that it said employees have to adhere to Abercrombie guidelines of personal appearance. Does anyone know exactly what those are? Thanks

I'm just wondering. The recent tape shows some similarities but there are facial structure details that don't quite match, including the curvature of his brow and the shape of his nose (it's close, but doesn't quite match older images). He could have had a nose job. But the brows are something you really can't change -- that's generated by the bone in your skull. I'm not saying the tape is a fraud and that it's not Bin Laden. But recent Hollywood productions show that some makeup artists have gotten really, really good with making actors up to look exactly like anyone. So anything is possible. And in today's scam media age, nothing on media is to be taken at face value. A personal appearance with third party witnesses is the only way to prove it. That's why Saddam showed up in a crowded marketplace after he was presumed dead. It dispelled all doubts once and for all. (But of course, we know what happened next...) Bruce B - They can't claim any "success" other than "successfully hiding". Their influence in Iraq hasn't disrupted "capitalist America" one bit (and in fact, we laugh at their distraction and much praise for our military for keeping them so easily occupied). Success? Hardly. It's clear they have aligned themselves with the extremist Left in America, which perpetuates they very things they claim to despise about America, making them the most obvious hypocrites. And for that, their influence will soon vanish.

Hi, I am an african american woman, and I was wondering how does your culture differ from mine. How do you greet one another? Do you visit one another? What do you like to eat? Do you gesture to get your point across? How is your attitude in general? What is your belief in personal appearance? What language do you speak? Religious? What is your culture's view point on family, dating, marriage, diet, business, and recreation?

Why is a personal interview always required when applying for a job? Can't all the information about your qualifications be put on a resume and application? Can't questions be answered over the phone? It seems to me that actually meeting the applicant only opens the way for discrimination. Why does it matter what the applicant looks like? Wouldn't a beautiful young lady have an unfair advantage over a plain looking overweight woman, even if the job has nothing to do with your appearance? What job qualifications are discovered about a person during an interview that could not be learned through letters, e-mails, and telephone calls?

I've been taking Adderall XR for 7 years, now. I also smoke. I have a very high-energy and demanding job, with a high level of importance on personal appearance. I simply cannot afford to a) lose my productivity b) gain weight. But, I know that if i continue relying on drugs/chemicals, that I will cause myself significant health problems as I get older. Next week, my doctor is starting to step me down on Adderall 5mg every 3 months, in hopes of gradually weaning me off of it. Has anyone gone through this process? I am also hoping that getting off of Adderall will make it easier for me to quit smoking. How do I avoid gaining weight while quitting both of these? I presently eat 2 meals or less a day, and am not active AT ALL. I know, it's terrible. I just got married last year, and would like to take better care of myself, in anticipation of having children at some point in the next few years. I just don't want to lose my job and get fat! Any advice?

I'm always a bit concerned about having to create a profile listing all of my personal information. I prefer the old fashioned methods of mailing, e-mailing, faxing or personal delivery of my resume.

Before a company can hire a you can they ask you if you have good enough credit to get a personal credit card? This would be so when you do travel you use your own credit card then get reimbursed. Thanks Sgt BR, I guess after the first application process they can ask if you hold or can hold a card? Seems like this is could be biased in the second interview; even for a small company wouldn't you think? P.S. I understand your disclamer and do appreciate your answer! Thank you!
