I am constantly wondering what are the various methods of getting a job when most employer are hesitant to hire recent graduates from a post secondary institution due to the fact that many graduates do not have the relevant work related experience? In addition, I am wondering what are good websites for job seekers and various agencies? Nevertheless, I am wondering how long does it take for the average post secondary graduate to find a decent job within their field?

Okay...so I've just learned that my job hunting method of choice (Internet and Job Boards) is one of the least productive methods of job hunting. I also learned that "using the phone book's Yellow Pages to identify fields that interest you, then calling employers in those fields to see if they're hiring for the kind of work you can do." is in the top 5 of most likely ways to get you a job. ....sooo....I got out the Yellow Pages and started going through it. There are 100s of numbers just in the Attorneys section alone. Its mind boggling. What am I supposed to do...just start calling them one by one? What kind of work do I do? Well, directly my specialties are office assistant/clerical, data entry, file clerk and customer service. But I could do most anything if someone gave me a chance...meaning that I've applied to some warehouse jobs too because I think that would be a good job as well and wouldnt mind working outside of the cube. I've also heard that employers dont particularly care for candidates who arent seeking them...their business specifically. Meaning I'm just looking for a job. It's not really important at this time who it is (sure there are exceptions)...but if they have an opening and it works out for my skill set and the job looks good to me (duties, pay, etc)...I'll take it. Yes..that means my resume is a general listing of my employment experiences also. Its not vague..but its not tailored to any specific business. So given these elements how would I go about using this Yellow Page method effectively? - Please advise. Thanks.

Most of the application process' might be online so links to the application page would be helpful. I will rate a 10 to the best answer. I could also do your question.

Since taking control of the House last month, Republicans have introduced several major anti-abortion bills that women’s rights activists say could place severe limitations on access not only to abortion, but complete reproductive health and family planning services. So Republicans are essentially going to make it easier for women to get pregnant by making it difficult to obtain birth control, and then they want to ensure that wecan't get abortions when we do get pregnant. Why? Is our population dwindling? I suppose they figure the more unwanted children born into poverty equates to more pawns for their delectable oil war. Abortions are going to happen regardless of legality. The only difference is that women are going to start dying from unsafe methods and hack-jobs performed in back alleys. Whatever your views on abortion are, you cannot deny that this is an incredibly stupid idea. Not only is it incredibly stupid, it's also incredibly hypocritical and dangerous. These people claim to be pro-life, yet they're perfectly fine with the idea of thousands of women dying because they don't have access to proper medical care?
