Operator Job Questions & Answers

I've been searching for 2 months and it seems all the forklift operator job opportunities i come accross are for operators with at least 2-5 years experience. I have about a year and some change total experience, with mostly 5k electric sit down lift trucks and maybe 3 months 5k LP sit down lift truck experience. I'm certified but don't have much experience and if everyone requires 2+ years experience, how am I supposed to find a entry level job so I can get some experience? Any ideas anyone? thanks!

I just was offered my first news camera operator job, but I'm not sure if I want to take it. The location is pretty off the grid and I know absolutely no one. I know i only have to stay for a year for experience, but that sounds like a lonely year. What would you recommend? Think I should go back home, live with my parents until a better opportunity arises? What if this is the best opportunity i am given?

He has worked for the same company for 21 years in a good paying but very labor intensive position as a machine operator. He was asked to apply for a salaried position of first line supervisor and got the job. he has 60 days to try the job with the ability to go back to his old job within the 60 days if he chooses. He has only a couple of weeks more to make up his mind. Some of the folks in the salary ranks love it and others say the company is piling more work and taking away benefits. Some say they are fine, and others say the stress is killing them. My husband does not handle stress well and is a very methodical thinker. He knows he can do the job well, but does not like the job or the constant headaches it brings. He is experiencing anxiety and doesn't know if it's just the decision or the job. Money wise the new job is better, but we are ok with money either way because his operators job pays ok, too- new job less days but higher salary. Thanks!

I am helping my husband make a resume, and I am not sure how or if I should list an education section. He dropped out of school about 5 years ago in the 11th grade, and is currently taking GED courses (he just started). He expects to be finished with it in about 6 months. He is going to be applying for warehouse/forklift operator jobs that, for the most part, don't require a diploma/GED. He also has 1 year of relevant work experience and several years of other experience. Should I omit the education section? If not, what's the best way to list a GED in progress?
