There is a good company hiring in my area that is hiring for "Plastic Extruder Operator" positions, but I'm not exactly sure what these positions are responsible for. I'm kind of getting mixed up descriptions when I search for job descriptions on Google. Any ideas? They are hiring trainees, with full training "courses" provided. Again, just curious as to what this position consists of.

I want to buy shoe-manufacturing machines to make sandals, heels, and boots. I know they will run me several thousand dollars a piece. However, I need to know what they are called because running a "shoe making machine" query on Google simply isn't working. Also, if you have any information on what company to purchase them from, I would highly appreciate that as well. Thank you! @gcbtrading Thank you! But that turned up zilch also. That was a very good idea though! @she Who that link took me to a site with different machinery, however, like other sites like it, there is nothing about a shoe making machine. There's sole making, toe making, but no shoe making machine. @janith I saw those, and I was looking for an alternative for anything off of alibaba or aliexpress. I am familiar with both of those sites.

Are there any methods of printing (images, patterns, etc) onto various shaped plastic products? I know there are many companies that offer promotional products with your logo on them - pens, keychains, letter openers and whatnot - but those are most likely printed during manufacture. I'm interested in laying an image (or pattern, whatever) onto an already made plastic product. For example... a mouse. Or a ball. Or the back of my cellphone. You get the point. If there's any way to achieve this, please let me know what the method is called and maybe even recommend some small-volume providers. Thank you!!!

I am 35 and have been a mason and carpenter for most of my life. That's what I started doing out of high school, but finally got tired of it and went to school for hotel and tourism management, but I did not like that industry either, so not I'm back working construction again. I want to try something new. I don't have to make a lot of money. It's more important to me that I like the job, but I do have to make enough to live. I can go back to school if I need to. A self employed job would be great, but not a necessity

In this day and age, where machines are used rather than people to screw tops on bottles etc, what sort of things do people doing factory work have to do? Is there still lots of repetitive manual labour involved or is that no longer the case? It's actually a research question for a script I'm writing, not myself! I need to know what sort of dull, monotonous tasks someone might be doing for 8 hours a day (rather than watching a machine do).

I earned my Mechanical Engineering degree December last year and due to my lack of experience and poor GPA i was not able to get an entry level job as a mechanical engineer; however, i made some little but significant steps in getting back on track to finally pursue my career. I joined a volunteer organization that develops and implements sustainable engineering community projects, and I am currently working as a Machine Operator in the daytime while taking CAD/CAM, and other technical classes at a local community college at night. I'm hoping that my volunteer work, my technical classes, and the kind of industry(i work for a manufacturing company that produces thermoformed plastics) that i worked in will somehow substantiate the needed experience and technical skills in lieu of intership/co-op and or GPA. Is this a viable idea in order to rebuild the broken path to my dream career or should i finally walk away from Mechanical Engineering forever? I am not smart enough to get a 3.0 GPA as a student and though i worked hard in school i struggled pretty much in all my college years. As an undergraduate I even approached a professor once about a research assistant position but i was turned down. I am consistently trying to accept the very painful reality of not becoming a mechanical engineer but i find it difficult to be at peace with myself; I realized that I live and breath ME and its just unfortunate that I am not smart enough, and I lack the experience to do it. Any Mech. Engineers out there with a similar situation, or perhaps a few honest comments out there from Human Resources people about this kind of situation? Am i making the right moves to get back in the right direction or is it no longer practical for me to pursue a career as a Mechanical Engineer? I'm from California by the way, and I'm not sure what the job outlook is for Mechanical Engineers in the state.

I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant now and this has been a concern for me. I have 12 weeks FMLA and I work as a machine operator for plastics and my boss depends on me a bit too much. When it comes to the fast jobs they always assign me to them since no one else can do it as well. When they gave the other employees a chance, they got backed up and parts were ruined. I'm just worried with all the stress could it take a toll on my b****t milk supply in which I won't get enough milk out from the b****t pump or my baby won't be fed enough to be full. Especially being back to lifting and pushing heavy objects. Should I have formula on the side just in case? There is no part time at my job and very rarely there is light duty depending what machine they set up which requires less physical activity. They wouldn't dare adjusting special hours just for one person. The company is a monster all they care about is making their margins/profits, money money money.
